  • Amen!

  • I don't know. I always try to move to a modal text editor, yet when I see people using it i always think the time he spends typing regex, moving around, selecting and other stuff I could be done in half the time in a visual editor.

  • vim on windows?

    lame

  • @Lcrymlgy That's not windows, dude...

  • meh.. i'm grad that i switched to emacs, thanks for video that prooves that i'm right.

  • @nemckoff Whats better about emacs and how far did you get with vim?

  • Replace with confirmation? Only cowards using confirmations!

  • Vim's main strength is its macros. An abundance of plugins is a secondary strength. Other than that it sucks. Using the mouse is actually pretty fast, it's just the fact that it's boring that makes you notice.

  • @gairabad

No, it's main strength is it's ergomomic key command design. You are right: using the mouse is quite fast. With the common hybrid mouse keyboard technique you can probably go as fast as experienced Vim users BUT:

it's not ergonomic. How often do you switch mouse and keyboard with your right hand a day? 1000 times? I do it perhaps 100 times. Now whose right shoulder will hurt more?

  • @drthrean and what wrist hurt more? I like the idea behind Vim and infact I myselft design a keyboard layout with autohotkey to almost never move the arm. Now I have an anoying pain in my writs. I move my arms to precisely reduce the pain in my hands, Isn't a good thing.

  • Great tune! FSOL
