  • We use a Provident Living cannery that is south of Atlanta. We don't actually can anything there ourselves, just buy the food already canned. We buy the 50 and 25 pound bags of grains also.

PRICES HAVE INCREASED 50% IN ONE YEAR!!! But the prices are still very affordable.

The best thing is that the product is VERY high quality.

  • @pilgrimfarmer Is that an LDS establisment? If so I have heard that the price jump with them is due to them holding back the increase in the past few years and now they could not hold it any longer.

  • @GaryMule

Yep it's owned by the LDS. Prices may be higher there, but they are still one of the best deals going when you factor in the cost vs quality.

What's a conservative Baptist like me doing shopping at an LDS warehouse??? Why buying food of course! A LOT of food. My wife goes up there with other families, and load down the vehicle to capacity every time. They pull up to the house and the van is sagging on the springs!

  • @pilgrimfarmer Thats awesome!

  • @pilgrimfarmer Can you give me the address of the location south of Atlanta? I only see Tucker, GA listed online.

    Thanks.

  • @adover12

My mistake then... it's 'EAST' of Atlanta...

Yeah that's the one in Tucker, near Stone Mountain.

  • you damn terrorist! gosh ;) when lindsy grahm says that people are becoming radicalized on the internet this is probably what hes talking about LOL. seriously though its messed up. keep on keeping on!

  • Inspirational!

  • @dreadlock360 Thanks

  • wow you gave me ideas on things I never thought to add to my storage. thanks

  • @treetopteresa Glad I was able to help you.

  • Nothing is going to happen, you must be one of those,"2012" the World is going to end people. If it ends then it does, no amount of storage is going to save you. And how does 9-11 affect your food supply? It didn't hit a house. Americans in general are crazy as well!!! 9-11 , 9-11. It's sad, but get over it! There are worse things that happen in the world everyday that need to be addressed. Never mind a few rag heads. Boo ya

  • @SuperBrett1984 No I am not a 2012 tard, sorry to ruin your stereotype. I do not know aht world you live in but you seem happy where you are, maybe you should stay there. But someday if you lose your job, get sick or god forbid there is a natural disaster don't come crying to us crazy preppers for help. Thanks

  • THREE DAYS for the super market to empty sez it all. I started after 9-11 when I started preparing My wife thought I crazy I'm 24miles from Manhattan Island I don't feel safe NWO

  • @zappadead13 While your location is not the best, you have done a lot for your family by getting prepared. All you can do is your best right? Good job!

  • How come Mormons are all crazy about the whole end of the world , food storage thing?? Nothing's gonna happen!

  • @SuperBrett1984 I am not a mormon, if you want to know why they store food do some research, they were not very popular in the old days. As to the nothing is going to happen comment, you cannot be serious.

  • @SuperBrett1984 I bet those people who have food storage when the economy collapsed and they lost their jobs where happy to have it.

  • nice set up

  • @MrVTHILLBILLY Thanks, it is different now though. More organized

  • @homeshortly wow your insane....... if america is THAT bad leave...... how about you try Africa? Afghanistan? you want to try living in one of those county see if you can even get onto youtube while there.......

  • @elbenzorockz Well that is not really a legit response to his post. the things the poster was writing about have happened and they will pass the NDAA. There are things legal in the US that not even Hitler would try. Is it bad yet, no, but the legal foundation had been layed.

  • Very nice, but you have no earthquake protection. They can happen anywhere these days.

  • @permiepat Thanks I am working on that, I plan on using 1x2 or someting and making a lip along the shelf

  • @GaryMule That's what I used was 1x2's. I screwed them in the center of each shelf making sure I had enough room to get bottles, cans, etc. in and out. I also screwed all my shelving together to make the whole shelving system more sturdy. Some people use bungey cords but I like the sturdiness of the wood. I've put to much work into this to see it all broken on the floor! My husband works long hours so he help me a little (LOL)!

  • @permiepat Good so I know the 1x2s work. these are all secured to the wall with screws as well.

  • @GaryMule I didn't secure the shelves to the walls as they are cement and I'm not that constructionally talented! The way my shelves are set up I just screwed long screws into each other so they are all attached, it just made them more sturdy. Good luck to you! I am sure you will come up with better ideas than I did!

  • @permiepat Sounds similar, I just screwed the boards into the shelf "arm" But I guess I could take the entire shelf off in one piece. the tracks are screwed into the all. Since it is a basement there was cement, but I just framed it, so the basement has walls and looks like the rest of the house.

  • the Govt is demanding the Morman's hand over the names of people who have bought from them them!!! This is not good

  • my local grocery store sells that freeze dried food in #10 cans. I buy a can every payday. Thanks for the video

  • @MontanaPrepper7 Great! My walmart also sells things, the cannery is good for basic things but does not have the fancier stuff.

  • Good video. I am new to faith and just being to totally understand. But always had food storage on my heart from the beginning.

  • Thanks so much!! Morning Moo's egg white powder! I wanted to locate this in bulk for my sugar craft flowers! Thanks!

  • @AnneGirlCarrots Thanks for watching glad to help.

  • A good way to start is to write down everything you use in a week. Then buy a weeks worth of those items. Continue with keeping track of what you use every day and add to the list and buy them as funds allow. Good video. I can tell you have been ding this for a while. Thanks for sharing.

  • Nice stash! Can you direct us to the LDS canneries?

  • @MzProgressive Hmm good question. You should be able to find them in the local yellow/white pages. If not you can find your local ward (their name for church congregation) and talk to one of the leaders. Most likely they would help you. Do not worry they wont try to convert you or anything. However, if you do use their cannery they will share their beliefs with you. Their court, their rules. But don't sweat it in general they are very good people.

  • @GaryMule Actually I found the directory at "provident living dot o r g" - but thanks! They will share their beliefs? I am especially interested in WHY it is considered a "religious obligagtion" to store enough food for your family to last a year.

BTW, do you realize that your "long-term" milk is actually IRRADIATED? Check the label, it will say "ultra-pasteurized." And IMHO, it tastes "off." This is the milk that is sold in the Carribean. I have to wonder, what it does to the protein.

  • @MzProgressive Oops! that's "religious obligation" (more coffee please!0

  • @MzProgressive You will find that just like other religions and their obligations not very many LDS have food storage, sure maybe a little more food then usual, but not nearly as much as their leaders have asked them too. Asl for the milk I do not know about that.

  • Good job on the vitamins and toiletry supplies! I wonder how many people haven't thought of those items.

  • @Jim777ism There is more then this, this is what my daughter calls my office. It has some of the medical supplies that I use to fix her scraped knees. I found that when people start out it is all beans bullets etc. After you have that you should then try to figure out "what did I miss?" Then you start from there,

  • Turn it upppppppp haha

  • CANT hear uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • i know where im going when food is low.

  • Looks great! I live in Alaska where a big fear is earthquakes. A suggestion I would make should that be a consideration to anyone is to keep all jars on the bottom shelves as well as liquids. And put a lip on your shelves or use some thin rope or line as I call it, even thin bungie line acrros to keep items from falling. You are to be commended for taking such good care of your family. Our set ups are very similar. Best of luck to you.

  • @mipterdoo Good ideas! Thanks

  • @mipterdoo I would recommend both the lip and a rope for those in earthquake-prone areas; especially for glass jars.

  • Do you have to be a LDS to get those cannery goods? If not, where do you go to get them or buy them?

  • @kokonutbaby1 You can buy some of them online, youtube channel: "southernprepper1" has a very good video on all the details. He does a lot better job in his video. In short, no you don't have to be a member, a lot of times you can find the LDS cannery in the phone book. If not you can probably find the LDS church in the phone book and ask them. They don't try to convert you, bu tthey will talk a bit about their beliefs.

  • @kokonutbaby1 Just google "long term food storage", or "freeze dried foods", and it'll come up.

  • A tip for all preppers! dont show your face on videos when you show your preps you dont whant the people in your town showing at your door

  • @alchemicnerd LOL

  • @alchemicnerd I've thought this many times when I've watched these videos.

  • Man up.

  • How come you didn't get milk from the LDS cannery. I think it lasts much longer than a year.

  • @hitmanhite Well I do have that kind of milk, it is up there on the shelf. This other kind is ready to drink, I don't want to waste my LTS with everyday use like camping and short emergencies. Thanks

  • @Dustycajungurl About a year. The good thing is that they need to fridge. We have the small ones in the car, with winter they get cold. Then whenever the kids wanna drink mom just gives it to them.

  • @GulfCoastJaguarundi Good for the eggs sucks for the phone man! I should make a vid for you about my fish, mostly guppies...

  • Thats great and so neat too. Thank you for sharing

  • @preparedchipmunk Thanks for the kind words, do you have any food stored?

  • @GaryMule Yes I do but not nearly as much as a I would like and not enough variety either.

  • @preparedchipmunk Well it can be done, just like eating an elephant just a little at a time, and before you know it you are set!

  • @GulfCoastJaguarundi Hey thanks, haven't seen you for a few days, how are the fish doing?

  • Thanks for sharing! I really enjoy seeing how others are prepping.:)

  • @1930sgirl You're very welcome

  • Thanks a lot for the kind words! Never thought about the ammo can for matches, thanks for that too.

  • All I can say is WOW! Incredibly neat, well organized, thorough and very inspiring. Thanks for sharing with us.

May I suggest putting all your matches in military ammo cans with a packet of desicant? They are kind of like ammunition primers. Humidity and air degrade them more quickly.
