I watched this DVD (1st one of 2 so far) last night & it was incredible seeing some of these live performances just found & released on DVDs. Amazing performances, loving the classic rock & blues of these, but man Janis was, as always, AMAZING! :-)

Never be another Joplin.... she's been dead 41 yrs this oct. and her music will never die....

@kclayton1222 I can't even imagine her in her 60's, and what direction her music would have taken if she had lived, can you? No one can compare to that voice & passion.

@gmj2012 we may never know were her music would of gone, but there are sooo many female artists today that she has influenced...

@kclayton1222 Such as??? I can't think of ANY except perhaps Portishead, maybe Joan Jett but even she had a pop voice on many of her songs, so closest is Portishead. Only in very old blues & soul do I hear music sung with such passion you can't help but hear it in their throat being scoured from literally screaming or hollering the lyrics out, as Janis did.
