  • The Bay City Rollers "Magnificent Seven" lineup-Leslie McKeown, Stuart "Woody" Wood, Eric Faulkner, Ian Mitchell, Pat McGlynn, Derek Longmuir, and Alan Longmuir. In this clip, Alan, who was the left-handed bass player and left-handed guitar player, played keyboards in this video.

  • @MrJayBBluejay If Duncan Faure had been there, it would have been the Elite Eight.

  • Are they the "BAY City Rollers" or the "BASE City Rockers"? I'm sorry, I just heard about them and missed the first word. They're really great.

  • wheres the left handed guitarist??,there all right handed and have a keyboard player

  • @surferjay1 The keyboard player is also the bass player.

  • This video takes me back to memory lane.....Long time ago.. Wonderful years

  • they must have been so sick of this song and never singing it live :P

  • 正気の沙汰でない~♪

    …すまん

  • This is god song!!

  • I think you have the year wrong , it is more like 1973. I was wearing my Bay city rollers plaid pants in grade eight. lol Jim

  • @plastite the song originally hit in the 70's but they had shag hairdo back then. they are sporting 80's hair in this vid

  • This sounds like a song made in the 60s.

  • ドレミファどん

  • Certainly the definative bubble gum band of their time.

  • GORGEOUS BOYS!!!!!!!....... <3 WOODY

  • luv the mullet.his video feels like im really high and drunk

  • people think in the 70's you would hear LEd Zep and Black Sabbath and shit like that, wrong, this is what you heard on the radio...like it or not, this and Rhinestone Cowboy and Little Willie and shit like that, lmao, still was a fun time to be a kid though.

  • Can you imagine being the 8 oriental guys in the Orchestra,,Wonder if they were looking around and wondering,"what the Fuck are we doing here"...Occupy space and Time, just Fuffer....Make it look good for a Lip-synk..

  • Summers at my cousins' house... Listening to Elton John, Frampton and BCR's, going to the swimming pool every day, a neighborhood full of kids, playing softball in their back yard. Awesome memories.

  • Why do they always lip sync? nobody is able to cut a song this close to the original version ever. and its in every video of them. oh well i still like them and the song.

  • Yeah. Even in the really recent reunion versions it's this same mid-seventies single playing. Seems like this song could be awesome re-done with modern recording

  • From that infomous tour of Japan. The live album is brillinat though. Saw them with this line up in London & Leeds. Well i think it was all 7 of them. The only time i saw the original line up live + add on!, good times.

  • i lov this song

  • wow havent seen rthis goupin aages does that make old??LOL

  • This band was geared by Arista Records to become the new Beatles. However, their thick Scottish accents made them practically unmarketable in the U.S following their initial success

  • Wow! I never saw a video of all of them playing together. My favorite is Leslie but I also really liked Ian Mitchell when he was in the group. I had to do a double take of Pat because I will be honest I did not recognize him. I never really cared for him when he was with the group. I would have loved to see them perform live back in the 70's but never got the chance. Still one of my favorite groups from that time. What memories!

  • Comment removed

  • while i'm sorry to hear that you never cared for pat, i guess that's okay, because i STILL love him enough for both of us!!!

  • personally I think he looks cuter in this video then when he was originally in the group. He just seems to look different. Les and Ian will always be my favorite but would love to see an updated picture of what pat looks like now.

  • この曲大好き♪

  • Ay ayay...Les being cheeky again?LOL

(tell her all the little things ..)

Wish they could come back and stay like this all together for at least another 10 years orso....and give us that lovely feeling back again like we were in the 70's?I still feel the same..maybe even stronger..but in some way it's different....

Oh what the hell...where are my striped socks&the tartan-clothes...Watching this all here from the BCR...it Already feels a bit like I'm in the 70's all over again.&.LES! ....Sigh

  • I dedicate this to Ry.

  • Where's the checkered clothing ?

  • Yes that's right......I think I was just so mesmerized at seeing how damn hot Les and Ian were that I missed

Alan in the process!! I adore Ian's hair...wow.....just blew me away!! And of course going crazy over Les....ah those days......!

  • Oh my dear God...now that's a rare sight...I mean Ian and Pat all together except Alan!!! Thanks for sharing..this is precious!! Ian is so gorgeous with his hair!!

  • hi, alan was there, too. he's on the keyboards over behind pat and woody.

  • By this time they'd totally lost the tartan--it disappeared about '79, didn't it? I look at them without it, and they don't look "right." I miss the BCR look of the mid-70s.

  • Does 83 seem right to the rest of you? it seems it might be a little later than that

  • no, 83's right, les came back for '82, and ian and pat came back in '83. i did have a double album set from this concert, but it-and all of my other records and 5 photo albums of roller pictures were lost in moving!

  • lip sync

  • Wow. Japanese TV musta been horrible in the 80's. They fucked this video up so badly, it gives you a migrane.

But enough about them. BAY CITY ROLLERS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I never thought they were bad at all - I remember this record, I was about their age at the time - I think they were heavily criticized for not being GREAT as if every group out there is so fantastic - they put some good pop songs out there and their records did well on the charts -

  • @JohnnyGNV they were a great part of my youth

  • The '75, '76 & '77 Bay City Rollers coming together in 1983, when they were deader than a doornail. Except in Japan, gotta like this.

  • I also watched this performance on the television.

Perhaps, Japan might have worked easily than Europe and USA as for them at that time.

  • Wow! this clip from Japanese TV! SATADEENAITO! (^^)

  • I've never seen these guys do this song live. Clearly they are lipsynching here to the original recording. Love the song but had bands that can't, or don't, perform live.

  • nop porb. not, the music, sound is delayed, so the mouths look messed up

  • Just love it. They are still in my opinoin the only "Boy band" that have made it around the world and actually play their own instruments. Happy times.

  • gee i never realized how cute Pat was.

  • Let the sake flow like mud and maybe a Japanese guy will jump up on a table and give us all something to talk about at work the following week.

  • Whoops! saki not sake.

Looks like I had too much.

  • the one u see RIGHT IN THE BEGINNING is the coolest

  • I didn't know they reunited for this in 1983! Looks like they brought back everybody and then some, that stage is packed.

  • Amazing isn't it?? I had no idea either- always thought they hated each other by this point..I guess if we had youtube & internet then, we would have known.

  • good for you to find such a song... I'm 47 and this pulls me back to the late 70's, fun times.

  • this is the only song of theirs i like XD

  • original studio cut overdubbed. good job!

    miss these times!!

    thanks for posting.

    mm

  • WOW it was nice seeing them all together like than, i too would be interested in seeing more like that

  • Tees.. you do know that Eric is the one hiding his magnificent blue eyes under those sunglasses.. right?

  • It aint worth looking at if it aint got Eric.

  • Patrick McGlynn and Les McKeown... my teenage dreams!!! Ah, the memories!

  • I loved Ian:)

  • wow.. all of em together like that almost makes me wanna take out my tartan and do something naughty....

  • The next Beatles?? Nope!

  • Well, I'm sure they each made 10x more money than you'll ever see.

  • I hope they did. Which one was your boyfriend?

  • this is when i found them omg i was so little love them

  • Love seeing my cutie pie, Ian, even though Eric's my all time fave!!

Thanks for sending me this, Cat!!!

  • I love Ian too Heather even though my heart will always be Woody's! :-)

  • playback AGAIN

  • So little of Eric... "snif" just love this. Thanks for posting!

  • You go Ian!!

  • And ever, amen.

  • Excellent video! I just wish more video coverage could be done of Derek. I know, it's difficult because the drummer is always at the back. Just love the BCR! Forever and ever.

  • James Franco on guitar?

  • Is Alan behind the keyboard?Such a shame then that Duncan couldn't come too!Would have been awsome, all of them together!!But I love this video anyway!!Brings back good times(smile).

Woody definitely is the one who changed the most, but still recognize him ofcourse..haha

    NO,Woody+Eric,those glasses didn't help much!

Thanks so much for uploading this one! It's simply great to see them all together again!

    Greetings to all the(old)fans!

  • Woody

  • wheres Duncan?

  • I heard he was invited, but had a prior commitment.

  • Isn't that Woody with a shaved head-please-no!!! This fan in Colorado still love em all! I dated a leslie clone and I wonder where he is now. Kevin was his name and he played guitar and could imitate Les. God-Love the BCR

  • Awesome !!

  • Super - I love such NIGHTS !

  • 83? i dont think so. does anybody know when this really was? i'm thinking mid-90s

  • mid 90s? chief are u kidding me? this clearly looks like 83

  • OK, but who's the fat dude with the glasses? Is that Alan?

  • No that is Eric. You can't tell?

  • the one next to IAN?

  • I had to rewatch it again to find Ian but yes that's Eric.

  • Thats amazing to see, all of them on stage. Thank you

  • イアンの画像から始まるSaturday nigh.

    もう、この動画を見つけた時は、嬉しくて嬉しくて・・

    時の忘れ物を見つけたようで、感極まりました。

    最高だわ! ありがとう、leoshinoさん。

  • what did you say..LoL..please tell..did you remember in japan? xD

  • うはぁ~懐かしい!! タータン・チェック^^

  • Love seeing the Rollers all together here again! If Ian's legs were spread any further apart he'd split his pants! I guess Duncan didn't want to join the party!

  • You know what Gina97xls? I could handle this kind of a reunion today... what do you think??? I do love them all together too! Brings back such magical memories...

  • bcrscba1927, you are absolutely right! maybe this new wave of Rollermania will let them know how much we still love them and would consider a tour of sorts! omg, just imagine!

  • Everytime I think of them getting back together it makes me queezy with excitement! OMG! Is is just me??? I wish, I wish, I wish!!

  • Hi my friend! I just posted something that may be of interest to you on your YouTube comments! Talk soon! Luvya!

  • Do you know, I live not far from where it all started. One old guy I know used to drive them around in the potatoe merchants transit van to gigs around North Berwick and Dunbar areas, this was all before they hit big time. The ones you know as origonals such as Les and co are actualy not the origonal members as the origonal ones wee mostly from Preston Pans. Must admit I like this video, it shows they could have still amde it in the early 80's if they had stuck it out. 45 and I still like them.

  • AHEM!

  • Love YOU Forever, Woody!!!!!!!!

  • no no no no no no no no

  • the guy it shows first, is Ian, and he looks great! and pat looks really good too!

  • the guy it shows first is a younger brother of Les.

  • Les doen't have a younger brother. He is the youngest of 4 boys. That shot is of Ian Mitchell.

  • The Japanese are so progressive, they loved the B-52's when most of America shunned them. America ONLY really embraced them when 'Love Shack' came out. I've been a fan from the beginning! Rock Lobster anyone?

  • that is funny as an American I was listening to the B-52's long before " Love Shack" came out!! so I wouldn't say ALL Americans.. but anyway, Bay City Rollers # 1

  • U happidaze2 are a GREAT American then, thanks for the reply and keep on rockin'!!

  • yes I know! ... Keep Rockin also

  • Hey, I was one of the first Americans who bought the B52s FIRST albums when they were still an underground band from Atlanta, GA.

  • How 'bout Planet Claire & 52 girls?!?!

  • Lip syncing at its finest!

  • all i got to say is ian mitchell is so sexy then and now, les is always moving, derek is cute and looks shy, woody looks likes a soldier, pat cute also but IAN WOW

  • who was the one again caught with kiddie porn? the drummer?

  • @getchasumm There was porn found on his computer, true, but it was later proven that it belonged to one of his friend's who had been visiting him.

  • @jennilu123 thats what they ALL say !!! That or "I was doing it for investigative purposes" !!!

  • Who are the guys in the glasses? I think Japan was the only place that would have them by 1983 - sad, but true. Les Mckeowan isn't as light on his feet by then and he must have still been under thirty years old.

  • Eric is the one on the end with the glasses, and the other one is Woody.

  • Les IS light on his feet,it's just that after all the choreographed dancing in their American TV show, some of it stuck afterwards!

They look miles better in Roller gear though, rather than these ordinary clothes!

  • I loooooooove this song. They still had them lip syncing this song in 1983?!They didn't even let them update it to sound contemporary for the time! They should have been allowed to flourish and do their own music!I mean, it's great when you can sing about a Saturday Night Date when you are late teens and early 20's but when you are tapping thirty, these talented musicians were shoved in a relic box. I love their music both with the band and as solo artists, respectively.

  • Was Pat a girl??? If not then he's very pretty for a guy.

  • @sweetg49 I agree, Pat is ADORABLE-that's one of the reasons he's been my favorite for 34 years!!! But his FULL name is PATRICK JAMES McGLYNN, so he's 100% GUY!!!!

  • very BADDDDDDDDDDD haircut

  • I hate his hair in this video i mean les' hair

  • OK What was the name of the Bay City Roller who joined for a while, then went back to his wown band Rosetta Stone? Met him at the Toronto Airport circa 1979/80 Twenty screaming girl fans sounded like 200 --- but nothing like the Rollermania at the airport when the Rollers arrived!

  • LittleDragon2000 I believe you are talking about Ian Mitchell who left The Rollers for Rosetta Stone!

  • Ian Mitchell... that's it. After he left the Rollers he immediately came to Toronto with Rosetta Stone and picked up a lot of BCR fans along the way.

No screaming hoardes at the airport though... just about 20 girls who sounded like screaming hordes.

I Know... I was there and had to check Rosetta Stone through security!

  • Littledragon, Ian was such a doll!!!

  • i remember that,,,i was there,,,oh to be young again lol

  • Woody was/is my Favorite But Pat was also a HOTTIE!!!

  • Yes, Pat is the hottest!

  • Wow! What a fond flashback. Still a catchy and fun pop song; probably one of the greatest ones. They had the look, the sound the whole rock n' roll gimmick. Besides the other aforementioned influenced bands, you can add Red Kross, White Stripes, and the like to that list too. Not a bad thing though. It would have been cool to see the B.C.R.s play w/ The Cowsills too.

  • There from Prestonpans along from my hooose man there qulaity

  • Is that Ian and Pat? I wish I could of seen that. Its a shame they lip synched so many videos

  • omg is tht pat mcglynn?

  • NOTHING hotter than a lineup of the 7 sexiest men alive!! thanks Leoshino for an awesome vid of our boys. BCR forever!!

  • i thought Pat was such a hottie. wonder what's he doing now? ummmm

  • Hah. I remember us laughing at him when he first joined. There were so many changes going on back then. Wasn't he pictured in 16 magazine wearing only a long scarf? Yeah, he looks good to me now lol. Cutie.

  • That wasn't Pat wearing the long scarf... that was Woody... the on in 16 magazine! I can't believe they got away with that picture! I was NOT allowed to pin it up on my wall! LOL Pat was adorable as Ian. I loved them all but Woody the best!

  • Wow, you have a good memory! I'll take your word for it (just looked at your channel and saw that you're a Woody fan). I need to put some BCR on my cell phone lol.

  • Hi Gina97xls.. the one with Woody just wearing the scraf.. omg I loved it... I LOVE WOODY!!!

  • Actually, they both had a picture like that. Too bad Eric didn't!

  • Amazing seeing all of them together, including Alan, Pat, and Ian (my baby doll !)

  • any video of them is good

  • I agree.

  • sorry, 1976!!!!

  • Your just stupid one of the best fun groups ever

  • hmmmm! well i would of love to see less of this blurry colored stuff! but it was nice:-)
