The Bay City Rollers "Magnificent Seven" lineup-Leslie McKeown, Stuart "Woody" Wood, Eric Faulkner, Ian Mitchell, Pat McGlynn, Derek Longmuir, and Alan Longmuir. In this clip, Alan, who was the left-handed bass player and left-handed guitar player, played keyboards in this video.
people think in the 70's you would hear LEd Zep and Black Sabbath and shit like that, wrong, this is what you heard on the radio...like it or not, this and Rhinestone Cowboy and Little Willie and shit like that, lmao, still was a fun time to be a kid though.
Can you imagine being the 8 oriental guys in the Orchestra,,Wonder if they were looking around and wondering,"what the Fuck are we doing here"...Occupy space and Time, just Fuffer....Make it look good for a Lip-synk..
Summers at my cousins' house... Listening to Elton John, Frampton and BCR's, going to the swimming pool every day, a neighborhood full of kids, playing softball in their back yard. Awesome memories.
Why do they always lip sync? nobody is able to cut a song this close to the original version ever. and its in every video of them. oh well i still like them and the song.
Yeah. Even in the really recent reunion versions it's this same mid-seventies single playing. Seems like this song could be awesome re-done with modern recording
From that infomous tour of Japan. The live album is brillinat though. Saw them with this line up in London & Leeds. Well i think it was all 7 of them. The only time i saw the original line up live + add on!, good times.
This band was geared by Arista Records to become the new Beatles. However, their thick Scottish accents made them practically unmarketable in the U.S following their initial success
Wow! I never saw a video of all of them playing together. My favorite is Leslie but I also really liked Ian Mitchell when he was in the group. I had to do a double take of Pat because I will be honest I did not recognize him. I never really cared for him when he was with the group. I would have loved to see them perform live back in the 70's but never got the chance. Still one of my favorite groups from that time. What memories!
personally I think he looks cuter in this video then when he was originally in the group. He just seems to look different. Les and Ian will always be my favorite but would love to see an updated picture of what pat looks like now.
Wish they could come back and stay like this all together for at least another 10 years orso....and give us that lovely feeling back again like we were in the 70's?I still feel the same..maybe even stronger..but in some way it's different....
Oh what the hell...where are my striped socks&the tartan-clothes...Watching this all here from the BCR...it Already feels a bit like I'm in the 70's all over again.&.LES! ....Sigh
Oh my dear God...now that's a rare sight...I mean Ian and Pat all together except Alan!!! Thanks for sharing..this is precious!! Ian is so gorgeous with his hair!!
By this time they'd totally lost the tartan--it disappeared about '79, didn't it? I look at them without it, and they don't look "right." I miss the BCR look of the mid-70s.
no, 83's right, les came back for '82, and ian and pat came back in '83. i did have a double album set from this concert, but it-and all of my other records and 5 photo albums of roller pictures were lost in moving!
I never thought they were bad at all - I remember this record, I was about their age at the time - I think they were heavily criticized for not being GREAT as if every group out there is so fantastic - they put some good pop songs out there and their records did well on the charts -
I've never seen these guys do this song live. Clearly they are lipsynching here to the original recording. Love the song but had bands that can't, or don't, perform live.
Just love it. They are still in my opinoin the only "Boy band" that have made it around the world and actually play their own instruments. Happy times.
Amazing isn't it?? I had no idea either- always thought they hated each other by this point..I guess if we had youtube & internet then, we would have known.

bcrscba1927, you are absolutely right! maybe this new wave of Rollermania will let them know how much we still love them and would consider a tour of sorts! omg, just imagine!
Do you know, I live not far from where it all started. One old guy I know used to drive them around in the potatoe merchants transit van to gigs around North Berwick and Dunbar areas, this was all before they hit big time. Wow! What a fond flashback. Still a catchy and fun pop song; probably one of the greatest ones. They had the look, the sound the whole rock n' roll gimmick. Besides the other aforementioned influenced bands, you can add Red Kross, White Stripes, and the like to that list too. Not a bad thing though. It would have been cool to see the B.C.R.s play w/ The Cowsills too.
Hah. I remember us laughing at him when he first joined. There were so many changes going on back then. Wasn't he pictured in 16 magazine wearing only a long scarf? Yeah, he looks good to me now lol. Cutie.
That wasn't Pat wearing the long scarf... that was Woody... the on in 16 magazine! I can't believe they got away with that picture! I was NOT allowed to pin it up on my wall! LOL Pat was adorable as Ian. I loved them all but Woody the best!
Wow, you have a good memory! I'll take your word for it (just looked at your channel and saw that you're a Woody fan). I need to put some BCR on my cell phone lol.

Lip-synching from a recording made 7 years earlier (1977). Pathetic! Note for note like the record. So talentless they couldn't do it "live"?
