These two will probably always be compared to each other which is fair enough. As a Hawthorn fan I am rapt with Cyril, absolute gun, but you have to give credit to Thomas. This bloke has many haters out there after his first 2 seasons were inconsistent, but he has responded by becoming one of the best in the business and sticking it up his critics.
What an awesome game, gutted that the Hawks lost but these are the sort of matches that make this the greatest game in the world! Buddy's goal, Ball's goal, Thomas' tackle, 3 fucking points! Maddening but both teams deserved the win and there can be only one.

A 'hollow victory' is when you gutlessly and consistently rush a behind the second a forward applies pressure to you. So much so that if forces the rule makers to change the rules for the following season to avoid anymore cowardly acts.

Looked like a clean disposal by me from rioli and probably in time given the heat of the game. Then again though it was obvious the wobblers needed umps help throughout the night.

Every Hawks player around him was well covered so he didn't really have a choice but to wait and hope an opportunity would arise in the next second or so. When you're down with 50 seconds left, you have to take risks, and they wouldn't be called risks if they often paid off.
