This is still my favorite song of hers. She will always remind me of my mother, and when I have a daughter I'll put Clouds in her room so she can grow up with Joni as well.
Joni was called the female Dylan ,except Dylan was not a great guitar ,,Joni was classic trained on piano ,,but she adapted piano to guitar by herself and created downtune guitar and chording to suit the guitar and was famous for that ,and song writting,,they don't like each other ,,jealous
my fave female artist of all time, but how does she manage to look 17 at the age of 27 - considering she smoked since she was 9! I would kill for that complexion! (and talent!) at first I couldn't believe that this footage was from 1970....
Outstanding ... the lady fair amazed me in the 60s and 70s and continues to do so every time I hear her or see an old clip... thanks tons for posting this!

Note the lines "Now, you're flying back this way like some lost homing pigeon. They've 'monitored your brain,' you said. They've changed you with religion."
she delivers it with a bit of a smirk.
It's a silly "religion" and she sees the humor in it
@Markus484 i'm not sure, but i remember reading that this song was about Joni's relationship with Leonard Cohen, so perhaps he dabbled in Scientology.

I can't imagine Joni and Leonard together. Combined IQ approaching 400 I'd imagine.... Hallelujah, in deed!

Hello - great song. Do you know what she wants to say with the intro about Scientology? Did she have any contacts with this organization?
Was she hurt by it?
Best
