  • Again, you do a fantastic job, AND you are a teacher! I downloaded every one of the 6 lessons you put on youtube, and no one should say you need to get a teacher. It is fantastic music you play and with soul and feeling. Bravo!! Thanks for putting this up. Vernon Jenewein vernon@duduk.us

  • @EVANGEORGEUK well I played everyday, I think most people give up after a week or so, because after 10 minutes your mouth goes numb. I'm certainly not amazing, you should see the young Armenians and the beautiful sounds they make on duduk.

  • i luv it!!

& u manage to play like this in (only) 3 months!!!!

    u r amazing musician

  • Please change the title, this is not armenian music. Get a Duduk teacher.

  • @moltomix Um, Perhaps you should actually read the title, it says Armenian Duduk... Not armenian Duduk Music, nor do my tags for this video state that. This was one of the first videos I did on Duduk... Perhaps you should view the others I have made and see my progress on the instrument, rather then tell me to get a Duduk teacher. Also note I've not tried to post many videos of me playing armenian music out of respect for the music.. perhaps you could show me the same courtesy....

  • @BeautySavesWorld who told you that? You're thinking of maqam which is Arabic an what the Turks use in conjunction with dhagstah, Mugham is not maqam, and different, and Armenians use it with duduk....

  • Duduk is difficult to play, good on you. Love from Armenia ;-)

  • @MrTrunyan777 And why is that exactly?

  • @MrTrunyan777 i see Mr whatever.... then how about this one :) if youre not a Japanese or American , DON'T ever come close to a Computer, DON'T watch a TV and never get close to it , oh yeh and especially don't write the name YOUTUBE.... it was not created by an armenian ;))) what do u think of this deal ? in reward... no one will play ur duduk :)

  • @mraissam1997 i dont want any problem lol. i was a kid at that time.. which as 1 year ago.. i understand now, im sorry, it was dis respectful to say that.

  • Saludos y sigue compartiendo tu estilo, I just downloaded Silent Echoes and it is very impresive, I play the guitar too and it sounds so peacefull

  • @chuster777 Thanks, well the production on it isn't very good sadly. More of a collection of demos then a well produced endeavor. Be sure to check out my second album "Failure To Adjust" Its on my Reverbnation page.

  • I love te Duduk too and I am a latin guy from Costa Rica, totally other kind of music.

  • @chuster777 It is indeed, very rich and haunting. Greetings to Costa Rica!

  • sounds very arabic rather than armenian.

  • @ctimur More then most likely due to my ignorance of Armenian music back then, and living in Egypt. Check out my later videos, I'm slowly learning about Mugam & the traditional folk pieces. Hopefully I'll get closer to reproducing a more faithful and traditional sound as time passes by.

  • @Dreamfullofzen

Mugham is not Armenian, it is Arabic which is adopted by Turks and Azeris. Please, don;t use Mugham with Armenian music ;-)

  • Awesome, loved your style!!

  • hello, Dreamfullofzen. i like very much your duduk music. it is more profound that Jivan Gasparyan, Pedro Eustache duduk's music. can you post more songs? (maybe old armenian songs). have you CDs on the market?...music is divine and you make it more divine...don't stop ...God bless you

  • @pisumic81 Hey. I really don't know what to say... That's quite a compliment. That said perhaps you should check out more of their work... they are truly amazing musicians and artists and have played wonderfully in many recordings and concerts.

I plan to do some old armenian folk songs, but I will release that for free (since it's folk music) . check out my website, i have music on iTunes & amazon.

    Thanks

  • I love the one that has the Crow intro...very nice man! Mashallah!

  • @SaracenWarrior Thanks.

  • I love the Duduk...and I am Persian :) This instrument has been used all across the Middle East since the beginning of time. The Armenians are our brothers.

  • @SaracenWarrior I love the duduk. I'm British though, with Greek & Egyptian roots.

  • @SaracenWarrior Thank you :)! And i am Armenian and love Persia! :D

  • Armenian duduk! love it

  • @ArmenianGirlPeace Thanks. You should check out my other Duduk videos... I've gotten better since i did this.

  • keep goiing please, you are soooo talented at this, not everyone can play the duduk like you do, TRUST me, (ko mot lav a statcvum) which loosley translates in Armenian to "the music happens well for you" !!! Thanks! :) :)

  • Thanks for the encouraging words. I wondered if i'd be able to play the instrument. It's been an enjoyable experience, it really is an amazing and captivating instrument. Be sure to check out my other duduk videos, i'm slowly making progress!

  • @Dreamfullofzen

Hello man! THanx for the videos! Sounds fabulous! I just orderd a duduk from germany (I'm from sweden myself) and I have actually a pretty stupid sounding question for you; How hard is it? obviously every instrument recalls practice, but the trick of making it sound like you do, do you have any good advice for a beginner? It is obviously much about breath and lip controll, am I right? I am a singer, so that might give me a slight advantage. I have pretty strong lungs already.

  • Hi There,

    Congratulations on getting a duduk!

It's not a stupid question, you're just anxious because you've heard mixed things and want to know. Honestly, if you had no musical experience then i'd say it's hard, but as someone who sings, and is familiar with scales, and pitch, and telling whether you're in tune or not, it won't be that hard.

The trick is being patient, and developing slowly, and not jumping into the deep end. Getting a good tone requires a good reed, and patience.

  • is this the instrument played in the avatar last airbender? i like the sound of it

  • yes this is a good thing haha :)

    beyond words.

  • Excellent. Well be sure to check out my music on my myspace (new album came out this month) and be sure to download my previous album from my website.

  • you blow my mind.

  • Thanks. I'm assuming that's a good thing.

    :)

  • Goddamn ! So relaxing ! :)

  • Thank you. You can hear me play Duduk on 2 tracks on my new album. One of the tracks "Mirage" is on my myspace page.

  • Very good sound, nice playing, keep your videos comming .

    geesmaildk

  • Thanks, good to hear from you again (outside of the forum). I'm still working on getting my technique together which is why i haven't posted many vids of me playing Duduk. I get lip fatigue pretty quickly, which i think is due to the reeds quality. Eventually i'll work on playing more armenian/Middle eastern sounding stuff once i get my technique up to scratch... Btw your vids have been very useful!

  • what an incredible sound

  • Very Cool, Very Beautiful. Thanks for posting it. What is the drone sound? Five Stars.

  • Thanks Bill. Just used a virtual synth plugin that i've used for years. I usually practice like that to make sure i'm in tune and my intonation isn't off.. before i did that i'd usually be too flat or too sharp because the reed wasn't properly adjusted.

  • Makes a nice dreamy sound apropo to DFZ. Hope to see you soon!
