  • @attura Yes I'm certainly aware o Murray the K...real name Kaufman which in German, I see to remember meant 'merchant." How I remember the British Musical Invasion--Murray was said to be its central figure. The American public rejected their own artists and Brenda was one who unfortunately for her career wasn't "a Limey." These days so many Americans have rejected domestic vehicles.

  • Kid Ace, 14 yrs old, growing up and learning about life, just LOOOVED this part: -- "Mama turned on the front porch lights-- said Come in Honey - that's enough for tonight!"

(Man I LOOVE those car photos!!)

  • I was but a War Baby in Australia (rascal of a father from Chicago, Ill) who used to listen to American music as link to his country. A DJ at 4BK in Brisbane...Sammy K...played it three times in-a-row: one after the other. A unique presentation. That DJ seemed to feel the letter "K" was good enough for a last name! Have always wondered what his real name was!

  • @brunon44 we had "Murray the K", on WINS in NYCity in the 60's.

  • who played sax on this song?

  • FANTASTICA BRENDA. FANTASTICI ANNI '60. I MIGLIORI DEL SECOLO. IL TEMPO AVREBBE DOVUTO FERMARSI.

  • this is always a good party song,I listen to this song since I was in nappies lol

  • Shake ya titties ladies, lol.

  • I'm 16, so I obviously wasn't around for this, BUT it brings back to greatest memories! I remember my grandma jammin' out to this when I was 12. Miss you grandma :_(

  • only God himself, by which I mean Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode, sings better than Brenda Lee. four days ago, I didn't even knew her name. I guess life is pretty exciting.

  • I can't say think I this is a good song. but she sings it like a true godess

  • I'm hypnotized by her voice.

  • what a voice. like Björk and PJ Harvey mixed together

  • Brenda was a true standout in the era of true Rock n' Roll.

  • great voice!

  • thank goodness for 'an education', i would never have found this gem without it.

  • Saving those sweet nothings for............ NOT in public though... cheapens it. No?

  • AM i the only one trying to figure out what he's wispering? ;p

  • good, ty for this man.

  • i love her voice...she woulda been a good heavy metal singer lol 8D

  • to think she was 13 when she sang this song

  • @Dreadmonkey1 she was 16. born in 44. still pretty young and amazingly talented!

  • @omarskats3000 She was 14. The song was recorded four months before her 15th birthday. (She was born on 11 Dec 44 and recorded this song on 13 Aug 59)

  • @johnnykingtcb wow. thanks

  • 361, 265. I bet I know the guy that listened to this song like 300 000 times. LMAO SHAWN

  • Hopefully this type of music is on the verge of making a big comeback

  • I was 15 when this was released - I knew everything - I was cool - and the world was a neat place. No cares - no troubles - just being cool - handing out. Like tough man - I mean, way cool.

  • Brenda was the only famous entertainer who sang at my old ( 1962 ) Army post in Bamberg, Germany. Always have a soft spot in my heart for her.

  • Brenda's voice was "SULTRY"(kid's I am sure Wickapidia will help you understand this word)...Wolfman"s Fame came from working at a "Pirate" Directional AM 100000 watt radio station in Juarez, Mexico..On a good night he could be recieved From San Francisco to Miami.Search.."Clap For The Wolfman". I am old enough to remember the wolfmans antics on "The Midnight Special"..I Recomend to the wounger folx, getting the American Grafittti Movie and soundtrack if you need a reason to smile..

  • @LeftyLucyRightyTyty you do realize not all us teenagers are brain dead, Right?

  • @LeftyLucyRightyTyty The station you are probally talking about was XERF 1570 across the border from Del-Rio,, TX. I remember it from the 70's and it ran 250,000 watts. Impressive considering the limit was 50,000 watts in the US. The 250,000 transmitter burned out in the 1980's but is still on the air with a Mexican format, but not at full power. XERA was the station previously on 1570, by Dr. Brinkley a snake oil preacher. thats rumored to run close to 1 million. He was sued out of business

  • does anybody know where KRE studios are? i know all the radio stations west of the mississippi start with a k, all the ones east, start with a w. and the very first stations only have three call letters. and i know, everynight in the early 90s when i would drive through san bernardino everynight, i would hear wolfman jack on the radio. it could have been syndicated, but it sounded local.

  • groovi stufffffffffffffff!

  • @PONYBOY430 FUCK YOU, both Patsy Cline and Brenda Lee are great, so STFU

  • @lakersgotthis So tryue my friend. Don't let the Ignorant ones get to you. There's so many of " us " that this music hit the soul. Take care.

  • me encanta buena musica de los 60

  • Perfect pop hit.......

  • An argentinian band make a cover from this song. "Viudas e hijas de Roque Enroll", it was a cool band.

  • Very sexy, Brenda Lee comin' on strong!

  • Brenda is only 4'9" ,, they called her Little Miss Dynamite.

  • OMG - 1960 - around 11ish. I loved this song I used to play that 45 all the time. I thought this was so "sexy" back when I was that young! Listening to it now, I can certainly see why I did - she does have that special raspy edge to her voice. Such a voice coming out of teen who I understand was around 5'1" or so. This was SWEET - BUT CERTAINLY WON'T NOTHING!!!!!!!! Thanks for a great post.

  • When did Wolfman Jack retire?? I could swear I heard him in L.A. in 1970..But, it might be my brain reverting back to American Graffitti

  • @1949man He was around a lot longer than 1970... I remember.

  • @hazelmay64 He had the voice and attitude...........

  • gawd, i LOVE her growl. <3

  • @nishaxnightmare I must try that it sounds like it could work.

  • not many 14yr olds can sing like Brenda! Shes amazing!!!

  • I heard this on Steve Wright show on Radio 2 and i thoguht that this was very racy. I didnt know she was only 14. She should have stayed at home played with dolls!

  • Those were the days........

  • To my knowledge, this song was not banned. It was a very big hit, and yes, she did perform this on American Bandstand on National Television. I still have the original 45 record.

  • You're correct ,this song has never been banned. She;s everybody's sweet heart!!

  • I hope I get to hear her and see her someday!!! We baby-boomers know what music should sound like--and she has a great sound!

  • We kids from baby-boomer parents know nothing except from we hear from Guitar Hero.

  • That's not true. This is the music I grew up with!

  • Just came back from seeing Brenda in concert at the Plant City Strawberry Festival. This was her opening song and she sounded great. She told some jokes that had the crowd roaring and signed autographs after the show. She is so nice and a lot of fun. The lady is a national treasure if you ask me.

  • Duffy's Mercy song sounds a lot like this one. It's even sung on the same key. Has the same beat and tempo.

  • I don't know about this being banned. I may be wrong but I think she sang this on American Bandstand. Regardless, this is the original cut and well done AK47bandit!! Thanks!!

  • Beautiful, awesome, clear sound! Great video! Man you did an outstanding job! A great big Thanks for this wonderful oldie!

  • WILL NOT LOAD WITHOUT INTERRUPTIONS!

  • This was probably banned because she was only 14 when she did it.

  • Why was it banned?

  • this is a classic thx for postin

  • i love this reminds me of bein a kid again

  • beautiful

  • Great song, nice video, but the song was not on the American Graffiti soundtrack. The song was banned on some radio stations back then.

  • It certainly wasn't banned in LA- I remember bopping to it on the radio- I was all of six years old at the time playing with my Tiny Tears and Chatty Kathy dolls.
