That sure was some sloppy handy work, but it all turned out just fine!LOL!!! thanks for the video.., i have to try something like that on my shower pan, while tiling the wall a tile fell and punched a 3 inch long hole in it and i am trying to search here on youtube for some ideas..thanks again..
i have a really important question...i just bought a 2002 gtx seadoo and the bottom needs abit of work. theres a lot of deep scratches, some soft spots and a hole.
i know that you cant use bondo so what i really need to know is what kind off kit(products) or what steps do take to fix this problem ??? please hit reply
Sorry but I can't help you on that one. The purpose of this video was for minor amateur repairs on older fibreglass trailer with tools the amateur might have. Probably best to go to a fiberglass boat site for that information. Good luck.
@robertdeuce I actually just finished patching a gash in a 13' Boston Whaler. I used the West System (brand) epoxy epoxy thickener (silica) and Two layers of bi-axial fiberglass tape. I've used the West System for my entire life and I have to say it is incredibly straight forward and easy to use and I think you would have no problems if you used it on your sea-doo.
After you drill the holes for the screws in the boards you should remove the board and clear away the chips between the old glass and the board. Counter sinking the back is a good idea. This will allow you to pull the patch piece flush. Also put a piece of wax paper behind the board and the old glass to keep it from sticking.

this is the worst repair I have ever seen somebody videotape. 8 extra holes to even out that little piece? cheap materials, this guy is mixing his cheapest of all cheap body filler with a screwdriver, he mixed roughly 4 ounces of resin and used less than 2, mixing filler on dirty piece of wood, he has no clue how to wipe bondo/body filler, he is sanding a flat surface with an orbital sander, and his glazing putty looks like its from the 40's, and no primer on the repair. never use this approach
Dont forget to use a high grade gas mask or breathing mask.. this stuff can get into your respiratory system and over the years its been known to give people cancer. =) just a little safety heads up
Not a problem, Im only 16 but have worked with this stuff enough to realize it isnt fun when your getting dizzy on fumes ... also very nice tutorial. one of the best i have seen on youtube yet

You gotta learn how to relax. I'm not fixing a yacht. I'm patching a hole in a 35 year old trailer.

I don't have my old Scamp anymore, but I enjoy your videos immensely. They're always informative and clear.
