first time I watched it was on youtube in 2008, the Streamline version. Don't get me wrong, of course that version is a classic to a lot of people, but there were certain things and moments that was a bit off to me IMO. A couple months later, mid 2009, I saw the Pioneer version. IMO, I though that version was cool too, but, like the streamline version, it had certain things and moments that were also a bit off. I like both versions for different reasons

This is, undoubtedly, the greatest character theme ever composed in the history of music. Seriously, I listen to this song all the fucking time and it NEVER gets old. AKIRA's soundtrack has some of the best songs I've ever heard, and the funny thing is that they're over 20 years old.

As a lover of animation I was told that I simply had to watch this movie and I have to say the animation is absolutely great and the story is good too but it definitely tries to cram in alot in a 2 hour period. I think a couple of movies would've been better but still the movie was awesome. I could see how it kinda shaped and inspired several other japanese anime movies after it.

@TETTSUUO dude the scene where kei confronts tesuo giant blob form to the right music made me get the craziest chills. the whole manga is a battle of superpowered children and the music is PERFECT! mainly the songs illusion, requiem, tetsuo, kaneda and mutation. :D
