I agree, this is not the fairest way to decipher which video is the best, but it does take youtube approx. 1 hour to upload votes and ratings. We took this into consideration when we got people to vote for the video and got them in early enough. We planned ahead for that.

The real issue is that the contest is unfair. Youtube stores the rating count and updates it randomly, dumping ratings that it has stored. Congratulations if you guys won, but unfortunately the contest can't be considered even remotely fair.
