No medication, train yourself to be less self-conscious. Eventually, you should less care about what others think, because it's more cool, you know. You're still young, but eventually you should realize that nobody really cares about anything. If you feel like panic attack is going to kick in, slap yourself on the cheek and say, nobody gives a shit, everything will be fine, start thinking about some comedy movie or music or something and move on. Racing heart is good, it's like exercising.
I also have anxiety attacks, I was always social.. I could talk a stranger into buying a 50,000 dollar car. But ever since my 18 year old brother was murdered a few months ago. I cant seem to do anything or go anywhere without having panic attacks. I lost my job, dropped out of college and moved back in with my mom. Ive tried pills such as xanax, alprozolams, hydrocodene and trazodone. None of them help. I even tried smoking hydro weed.. It calmed me down for an hour or 2 but thats about it.
what you have to sometimes. Try going to your doc though and seriously try getting Ultram, that shit is just enough to knock the edge off of everything in general. It will help you so much with social stuff or phobias or even panic attacks, however start off small cause theres a slight chance it could send you into a panic attack (highly unlikely though). You shouldnt have a prob getting the meds for your doc as they now prescribe it for more than just pain, you can get it for anxiety/depression
Try Ultram (Tramadol) see if that helps, if not try some hydrocodone or other opiates. Its been studied that people with anxiety/depression get relief from opiates and not anti depression meds (in some people). And I am one of those people that doesnt respond to prozac or the likes, it makes me feel neutral or zombied out, and I hate that. I took some opiates and BAM, Im totally awake, very socialable, lots of energy, and really happy. The things is, yes you can get hooked, but, ah well you do
@unleasheth Thats completely false, Crazyjeky, it will lead to other problems and it is NOT FDA approved to treat anxiety/depression. Synthetic Opiates will provide Physical pain relief but side effects are MUCH worse to you than anti-anxiety medications.
@lomussk8 its off label use is and has been now for anxiety and depression, believe me, im on it right now for that very reason and I know many many people who are on it for the same issues. Ultram effects serotonin receptors in the brain, not just the opiate sector, this is why so many people get relief from this where as they may have not gotten relief from the standard approach of the normal regimen of SSRIs or SDRIs or SNRIs etc. Yes all opiates have a tolerance issue and side effects. But
@lomussk8 even a doctor will tell you that you have to weigh out the advantages and benefits from the disadvantages and the risk of side effects. This could be different for everyone, because everyones body is different
i have anxiety and mild depression from cocaine withdrawl, and ive been ridiculed because if a guy has anxiety hes labled a pussy, cuz thats how society works, but im dealing with it the best way i can for 2 years now, i was a heavy cocaine user, i dont crave it anymore i jsut stopped it cold turkey because i felt like i could handle it, and i can but its hard. at the end of the day you have to realize that everything gets better and you won't beleive how good thing will become.
@Ingle92protege k man, I would love to have Adderall, im hoping I'll get it. I've come along way with the social anxiety but tonight I just found out how prominent it really is. I won a big tennis trophy and went up to get it in a room full of 100 people. That nearly killed me, but then these sexy middle aged women dragged me onto the dance floor! Lol I should've been over the moon at that, but I just wanted to run. It's so hard at times. And the mind fuck that follows anxiety attacks...
@Ingle92protege I think that's cool man. And hey, at least you know what you're doing to yourself. The S.S.R.I drugs are a law onto themselves, who knows what they will do to a person, especially in the long-term? It's ironic saying this, but sometimes it's best to self-medicate. Mental health sufferers know themselves best whilst general practitioners know a little bit, based on textbook material, but at the end of the day they don't have the time to find out what's REALLY wrong with someone.
@Ingle92protege lol speed is just what I need! What's it like being on it? I've heard they are REALLY good for increasing concentration and that would be great. I'm a bit worried about the girl in this video, her last one was 2 years ago :( and she's so pretty
You remind me very much of my younger self. My advice to you is to do what you feel in your heart that you should do. If your anxiety has gotten to the point where you no longer know what that is. Then I suggest NOT taking medication. Try instead meditation, soul searching and building a community around you of like minded people. I know, it sounds painful, and it takes time, but it has helped me tremendously. I will friend you when I start my anxiety blog. this one is for creative endeavors -SS
i will try to explain, you should not use medication because you have to fight your fear, and with this you will gonna be much stronger to go though others fears, it will help you out, take medication is like, nahh i give up, and everytime you will get that fear you will use medication again, and what happend if you don't have any more medication ? you will never live your life like before . . . its the worse mistake, and panic attack don't kill, soo forget about it, have fun and live! take care!
exercise is the key...get active & cure your soul....your a beautiful girl, make yourself even more beauty with exercise...it will make you more confident...blessing & love
You become angry at "it" for humiliating you. When uv suffered so fucking much that your turn, and stop giving such a shit about other people and abandon your stupid behavours.
Its like a mental statement of "fuck you" always held in your mind toward your condition, and when u reach this point you dont so easily bend to others opinions as u used to.
u have to inhale that smoke a little deeper....get into army goto afganistan or somalia.... since u will be busy saving ur ass from a bullet once u come back to the place where u r sitting u may not have anything to complain about others or urself....
by the way, dont take medication, you need to deal with it in your own way, ive found my anxiety is worse when i take things like alcohol, if i take diazepam i feel normal.
neither is a solution, when i dont take either is when i feel at my best, thats my ownly advise to you.
hey i understand you, ive been through this as well, its tough. I get sweaty palms and i tend to look down when i speak to ppl and i get this hot feeling. However I forced myself to get into the i dont care mentality and forced myself to get in more social situations in order to develop some kind of tolerance to ppl. And after not caring what ppl think, over the yrs ive built confidence. You should try joining something to increase self esteem, like for me it was gym. But yeah all the best.
I'm setting my self daily excercises for desensitizing myself to the situations that make me uneasy/anxious. easy to do. just start out visiting somewhat crowded places till u feel fine (even if its just around ur block), then increase the difficulty, sticking at each stage till u can cope.
i have it to, im a junior in high school now and ive always just thought it was just the way i was until some friends said something... ive heard mixed things about medication which i think ill try out, im not into the whole therepy thing cuz i try enough shit on my own to help me, never works, if i cant help myself with the things i try i doubt some suited woman can help ya kno?.., send a message sometime if u find anything out that would b good to kno cuz i just found out about mine today
I've had anxiety since high school and I'm now 30. One thing that has helped a great deal is excercising regularly like 3 to 5 times a week. This was one of the number one factors in my being able to reduce my anxiety to the point that I rarely had a panic attack. I would try this and other natural solutions before choosing medication only using mediaction as a last resort.
So true, exercising has been my only method of anxiety reducing I have experienced. I've been really trying to get into it lately, but I always do it at like 4-6am so there's not many people out, but the days I do get up early for a run I feel so much better the whole day.

It definitely is a personal choice but I wouldn't think twice about taking meds if I were you. See a psychiatrist if you haven't yet and they can discuss the different options. I wouldn't go to a general practitioner though. Since they don't specialize in mental health, they just want to throw you some pills and say, "Good luck with that." I'm on meds and see a therapist and it makes a hell of a difference for me. I would be screwed if the meds were not in the equation.

@CrazyJekyll42 You are beautiful. I think you should try medication a go as my anxiety did go away after taking effexor 150mg for about a year.
