Not sure the exact upper brand but the barrel was ordered from sherluk years ago. The upper is kind of a mut, put together from alot of different brands. The lower is a Sun Devil Mfg. They make great lowers, and I've purchased quite a few of them over the years.
I was only about 50 yards away on this video, but I have easily hit man size steel targets with it at 2-300 yards. Not sure what the velocity was like when it actually hit the target at that range though.
hey man...did you put a standard quad rail on the 7.5 inch upper to instead of the little half one they sell? to give it the flat rail all the way to the muzzle? its different than any ive seen....
Yes it is a standard 7" rail that you would put on a carbine. If you do the same setup you do need to make sure the rail will mount over your gas block correctly. The rail on this one is kind of a cheap one kuz my LaRue wouldn't fit right. It works good for this set up though kuz its just a fun gun for me.
@gumptionman - Hey thanks man! i orderded a complete pistol upper from PK firearms. it had the low pro gas block and a 7 daniel defense lite rail and a DPMS 7'' kitty kat barrel and a Noveske KX3 flash suppressor. Sweet lil upper! How do you like the pelican case? did you cut the foam yourself? or draw the pattern for them to cut???
I love the pelican case. The case came with checkered pre-perforated cut foam that you pull out little sections of it to make it fit the way you want it. I would like to get a solid piece of new foam and re cut to my specs because the pre cut perforations tend to pull apart over time.
man i love ar pistols. i just got my cabine ar next buy will be a pistol i love how you can get like a decent lenght of pull on it off the buffer tube and best of all it doesnt count as a stock. huge loop hole in the sbr law that i plan on taking advangae of. especailly cuz sbr has such stupid guid lines like having to notify the atf if you take it acrose state lines.

The only way I can think of doing that is to put a rifle length tube on it with a rifle buffer and spring. it would just have to be incapable of accepting a stock on it, like if you welded over the threads in the back and then filed it smooth or something? Just an idea.

Pervert? I'm not sure about that one? Although I will admit it is not set up for fast deployment. But I always have a regular pistol handy for quick access. This is just for a minimal space and descrete look while in your car or truck. Its not meant to be carried around like this. If you are getting shot at alot I would just suggest keeping your M4 ready at all times next to you. Just dont get pulled over and expect the police to be very understanding. Cost to build is how ever much you can get the parts for. I built it piece by piece over the span of a few years. You dont have to register a PISTOL AR15. You just have to purchase a lower receiver that has never been built into a rifle and have it transferred to you as a pistol from the gun store. I also had a trophy shop engrave "PISTOL ONLY" on the side, so there would be no confusion that it was never a rifle. Also you can never put a stock on it with a barrel this short.
Also I should mention. If you do want to make a "Short Barreled Rifle" instead of a pistol, and use an actual rifle stock, It must be legal to do so in your state It also requires filling out paperwork and sending in $200 to the BATFE, and waiting for their clearance to do so. Just slapping a barrel shorter that 16" on your ar15 lower can get you into big trouble if you dont follow the laws. Its stupid! But we have to comply!
I have to get one of those. I have been waffling between the 7 1/2 and the 10 1/2 versions. Do you have any issues with yours? Does the gas system give you any problems? What brand of upper did you use? What kind of rail and sights?
