I just figured out, thats It Ain't Like that. One of my favorite songs off facelift. forgot what that song was called. Would is one of my favorites too
grunge was the most pure form of rock n roll period. all the other eras had a huge emphasis on selling image and celebrity. Try asking the beetles in the late 60's to go back and play small pubs and clubs in liverpool and hamburg and theyd paul mccartney would laugh you out of the room. same goes for black sabbath, the who, the doors, and many others. Grunge by an large was built by losers and castaways who never fancied the thought of an arena career.
@curtmastor well the beatles were a studio band after 1966 cause they hated all the screaming girls and werent able to play their songs. The one concert they held before they broke up was on the roof of abbey road studios for passersby. And they were all from really working class families and had lost fathers and mothers etc. so thats an unfair assumption Much different era. I agree that grunge pre 92' was one of the greatest movements ever as the underground music scene was exposed.
@curtmastor TO say they didnt fancy arena careers is also a misconception many didnt favor arena rock or the 80;s glam bands, but its very naive to say they didnt seek success.Otherwise Alice In Chains wouldnt of played HollyWood Rock and other large shows along with Soundgarden, Nirvana wouldnt have made Nevermind a fairly slick alternative album (brilliant but palatable) and Ten wouldnt have started as Mother Love Bone a quasi-hair band caught in Seattle at the time.
@curtmastor Im not saying they werent brilliant musicians and they cared more about their music ten success, which is rare. But they all sought success to some extent.
@MrMarkphillips132 cornell is a sellout big time. soundgarden as a band was a fucking joke. just a bunch of pretentous assholes wanting to make it anyway they could.
I stayed for a year in Nijmegen (NL) back in 1992-92 and I missed on PJ gig in a local small club, Doornroosje.. it was in the same building as fitness I went to.. hard to imagine but by then I did not know PJ yet!! I was so pi!£ed off with myself :(

I have to agree. Then the late 60s. I was a teenager back then and there was a great album and video on MTV that came out like every week.
