  • What did you do for water? Did you filter all the stuff you drank or are bottles safe. I guess you could just drink whiskey the whole time... That and milk should get you through a hot day, noooooo problem.

  • We drank bottled water the whole time. The tap water in Panama City is considered safe too.

  • Ok, so it seems like everyone is doing this trip on GS's. I'm headed down there solo in my Yamaha Venture touring bike. Will I survive? Obviously I'll stay away from the super gnarly trail roads, but will be on lots of unpaved stuff. Should I just forget all about it and wait till I have an F650?

  • I was just in Belize last Xmas and although the main highways are paved, a lot of the interesting stuff like the mayan ruins are usually miles off of the paved road. I think that you would have a much better time if you had a dual purpose bike because you could then go to those places. In Belize, outside of the major cities, there is a lot of dirt/gravel roads that are in wide use.

  • What kind of gear did you bring with you? Did you camp out along the way?

  • We camped out only twice in 3 months. Rooms down there are cheap and we really needed some air conditioning/shower after riding all day.

  • The River is the Mopan River.Cayo District

  • Neither...its the Belize River. Upstream about 4 miles is where the Mopan and Macal join, at a place called Branch Mouth. This is where the two rivers become the Belize River.

  • What ferry was this. I want to mark it on my map at this site :belizemapiacom

  • This ferry is near the Mennonite Colony at Spanish Lookout. But I do not know the name of the river.

  • Macal River

  • Oops. Lots more views on this batch. I only went to episode 9 for my comment on number 7.

I loved it when you helped the guy crank it, Ryan.

  • Shut up, fat face.

  • Don't forget me either. I could do high notes for 10 minutes at a stretch. I do not think my illustrious c9ollegues could do it. In any case, yes, I like Calcano's singing.
