Absolute bullocks. Willie as murdered as sure as I breathe. He knew what others suspect. The difference is that he had the respect of his countrymen and the English knew it. If he were to have revealed all of this the "UK" would have been in utter chaos. In those troubled times... the population under one 'renegade' whose intelligence, charisma and quest for Scottish independence would have made the Queen nervous. Sounds like Wallace doesn't it? It was only mentioned that McRae was probably under surveilance by Strathclyde Special Branch, and given he carried an unlicensed firearm, was a member of shadowy militaristic organisations, and assisted terrorists, this hardly comes as a surprise. But what evidence links Strathclyde Polic to a murder?

The Security Service have also been known to be involved in assasination plots at home and abroad. The death of the elderly nuclear campaigner, highlighted in this documentary, was widely known to have been carried out by MI5/Special Branch during a bungled raid on her house.
