  • she is not suffering anymore. I will miss you. I first fell in love with you in the movie Body Rock. Didnt know you had parted earth until today. Wherever you are, god bless! Love and respect

  • Despite having breast cancer, she never gave up!

  • I've always loved the song but I think this is the first time I've heard it that made me cry. Absolutely beautiful.

  • One of the best performances of this song ever. AMAZING

  • I'm really good friends with her Niece. It's crazy, the story, the talent. She's incredible. RIP

  • I can't believe she's gone....At least she is suffering no more.

  • If I didnt know Ariel was played by Jodi Benson, Id swear black and blue that it was actually Michelle Nicastro !!! aahahaha! her voice is amazing!!!

  • @ninamermaid Another song originally sung by Benson was covered live by Nicastro: "Disneyland" from the musical "Smile".

  • I still remember her in 1976 singing the romantic lead in "How to Succeed in Business", '77 in "Okalahoma", and in '78 in "South Pacific". She was a heart breaker back then with a big voice and a big heart.

  • R.I.P

  • I love her eyes

  • It's a terrible shame that Michelle never landed a big Disney voice acting role the way Jodi Benson did. She definitely had the chops.

We know that she played Odette in the Swan Princess trilogy, but frankly, that's just not the same level of exposure.

  • The whole concert was a treat but I made the cross country trip specifically to see Michelle. The second I heard she was scheduled to perform I dropped everything & made plans. I was in the 3rd row & on the side of the stage she stood so she was mere feet from me & she was stunning. Her recordings are flawless but her stage presence was breathtaking. Entertainers like her are a rarity. Humble, graceful, talented & sincere. I'll miss her.

  • Very few renditions of this song can rival the original. This is one of them.

  • i love the way you sing as if you talk. that's soo wonderful! :)

  • I remember watching Michelle, many years ago on the soap opera "Santa Barbara." I thought she was so hot in the role of Sasha. That's not to say she isn't beautiful singing in this video. She definitely is. It's just back then, as a teenager boy with raging hormones, my view of her was very different then.

I was sad to hear she had passed away at such a young age, leaving behind a small family as well as many fans who loved her work.

    God bless her.

  • waaaaa this is crazyyy

  • I hope some of the Swan Princess cast was there.

  • she died?! holy god no D: How?!?!

  • @HilaryMurnane I heard it was breast cancer.

  • R.I.P Michelle Nicastro xxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • May she rest in peace.

  • Such an amazing talent. I too had the privilege of seeing Michelle as Eponine in the original Los Angeles production of Les Miserables, shortly before the show closed in June, 1989. I can't even begin to describe the impact she and the rest of the company had on 11 year-old me. I had been periodically following up on the cast and sadly had no idea she was ill. My condolences to her husband, daughters, and to the rest of her family and friends. Make no mistake about it--Michelle touched lives.

  • RIP

  • If you never met Michelle, you couldn't know how truly talented and beautiful she was. She was truly an angel, with a voice to match.

  • I found out just today from a friend that Michelle passed away.

I didn't even know she was the voice of Odette till I looked her up. She'll be missed.... <:'(

  • rest in peace mrs stark <3

  • Princess Odette you will forever be missed :'(

  • @JaDangerz Prince Derek misses you very much....

  • You are so amazing Mrs. Stark. You will be greatly missed. :'(

  • Rest In Peace Mrs. Stark

  • @vballlover22 :'( I know...

  • RIP, Michelle.

  • RIP dear beautiful friend.

  • Amazing;; sounds just like in the movie after all these years..

why talk about her weight etc? what's up with all the "i have to have the perfect body" stuf.. bullsh*t.. -.-

  • Thanks for posting this - Michelle is still to this day my fave performer. Love her so much - made a tribute montage even. :)

  • Michelle is my favorite singer! I fell in love with her when she was in the LA company of Les Miz. She's a wonderful woman and it's so good to see her sing again - hate that I didn't know about this show - would have went.

  • Her voice is just gorgeous.

  • Let's not talk about wardrobe and weight - really. You have no idea what you are talking about or what this woman has been through. Listen to her VOICE - it's magic and she's magic.

  • @haineshisway YeS...GoOd idea,

  • amazing voice but that shirt/dress does her no justice

  • It's a shame she gained a good bit of weight, but she still sounds fantastic. I have all of her cd's.

  • ......Damn.

Some places I didn't like it as much as the original or other versions I've heard, but that last line she really pushed it out! =D Very nice.

  • she's amazing...

  • This is the way to sing musical theatre in my opinion. She sets the bar for all those kids dreaming of careers on the stage.

Her performance is musical theatre at its VERY BEST, the best it can be!

    I applaud her

  • I was at this show. 3rd row center. The moment I heard Michelle was going to perform, I bought a ticket & made my plans. I'd become a fan of hers from her days on Santa Barbara and seeing her perform live exceeded every expectation. Many thanks to Bruce for recording her and showcasing this woman's tremendous talents.

  • Michelle Nicastro is the best singer in the world! I'll never forget the times I saw her as Eponine in Les Miserables in Los Angeles at the Shubert! Greatest performance ever! And I saw her dozens of times ( I was an usher so i could see the show!) and she was absolutely AMAZING every time. She changed my life with those performances. Thank you Michelle. Eli

  • Anybody remember when she was on Young Indiana Chronicles as a flapper girl/broadway sta Ann Pennington? Would love to see this on Youtube.

  • Yes, send me a PM.

  • Does anyone have ths complete show?????

  • One of my favorite Menken compositions sung by one of my favorite voices.
