A land of dead leads into a cave where a murderous spirit is sucking the life from you, and if you hadn't known the song of storms, the song of healing is an option with a scene that's for nothing more than to drive you deeper into the madness in this evil ghost's thinking. Not only in Zelda, but with any other game, I rarely feel panic in dying, but this moment pumped my heart with terror, and outside is just dreadful music and dead moaning.

this isnt a very good secret, its well known since you need to do that in order to get the music to play at the house so the little girl will come out and you can sneak in to visit the father and play the song of healing to get a mask.

It's really amazing how much they put into a game they made in just a year's time. Majora's Mask is a true gaming masterpiece. I hope they remake it for 3DS!
DUDE. I knew this LOL I didn't know it was a secret I was fooling around cause I didn't know what to do and I just thought that I should play a song since he is a composer (I didn't have song of storms yet :P) and it did that sound when I pulled out my ocarina so I thought I had to play song of healing lol!
I think MM should of gotten more notice then OoT.OoT is a very good game but to me,MM was better.MM had a very short story,but it had many tasks that you can do for people which makes you keep looking for the people that need help and the other mask you can collect just makes you want to play more,MM,to me,was longer then OoT if you count the side-quests.:)
@WolfPrincessTwilight when i downloaded it on my Wii (dont laugh, its not meant to be dirty) i got to that part and thought the same thing. i got a little confused cause when i played it like 10 years earlier i remember being able to solve it every time. i remembered that you had to play the song of storms after i had played the song about 5 times and almost died
@ThatFreakingFunnyGuy yeah, it either takes the GameCube controller or the classic controller. i prefer the GC controller cause then i can play GameCube games and downloaded games without having to switch controllers
I think this game is way better than OOT in terms of story, it takes you into a more emotional journey and discovery of character, you see how the characters and situations evolve in relation in the decisions you make. You can restart the time limit by playing the song of time and your objective can different each time, whereas in OOT your objective is always the same and you don't get to fully know the rest of the characters and their situations.

It's interesting how nintendo left many of this cutscenes so that hardcore players may notice. I mean It's a prove they put a lot of effort in making this game in just one year after ocarina of time was released. This game has a dark and more interesting story line than OOT but it's way too underrated by it's prequel i'm not saying that OOT was bad it's one of my favorites but It's a shame this game is just ignored. @PerseusLP OoT was realesed in November of 1998 and MM was released in April of 2000 so that is more or less 17 Months... 2 years are at least 24 months so it's a year and a half i was going to write that but the comment box is to small captain obious.
Yeah, the glitchy and unfinished japanese version was released back then, but those are the release dates for the highly fixed versions in the rest of the world:
@PerseusLP So? what i mean is nintendo tried really hard to make this game, the original Mujura no Kamen was already finished and released in japan by april and the other versions of the game were released later for translations and other changes like the owl save statues.. besides they have almost all the glitches that the original has just a few bugs were "fixed" but the majora's mask games all around the world are more glitched than a pokemon game. "highly fixed"? pff..

If you don't believe that the other versions are glitched then watch things like infinite sword glitch or bomb hovering in MM on youtube and tell me they are not.

@777Rowen The game starts with navi leaving link and he starts looking for her, and Skull kid starts becoming evil and paranoid because the giants left him but in the end those same giants saved Skull kid from Majora. The game is teaching you the importance of believing in your friends and having faith, like when zelda gives link the Ocarina before all begins she had faith in link, I like to think that at the end Link went back home with Zelda and if he has faith Navi will come back to him.
@Hibiki7soul what make majora suck agaisnt OoT wasnt the plot or this kind of detail but the lack of dungeons which are the meat of the series, the miniquest to get useless masks was generally annoying as well, that was the reason majora didnt live up to OoT
@Anemite That's more like your own interest in the game, but that's ok, when i was playing it i actually wanted to do the sidequests and it didn't felt boring at all the mask aren't useless they are suppossed to be tied to a specific NPC story and have their own meaning the lack of dungeon really didn't matter to me what would you rather watch a good but really long 12 hour movie or watch a better 2 hour one?Even the dungeon number has its meaning 4 giants, 4 dungs, 4 places,it's everywhere.
@Hibiki7soul actually not, most of the reviews from the game, both from "professional" reviews to random players said the same thing and i agree, the dungeons are the main reason why zelda is so amazing and Majora lack of them, the sidequests to me were boring but that is debatable, and for the dungeons, if they want to they could add8 giants instead of 4 to match up the story

@Hibiki7soul OoT has an excellent soundtrack, much more memorable that MM, character development is superior to MM, as for the plot i agree with you, i prefer MM, but MM doesnt have any memorable character, the mask seller, the couple, the rehash characters from OoT,none, as for the dungeons, they were were everything but random, all fit the plot very well, but i admit that i love 2 of the dungeons in MM (the underwater in the last), they were very well though

I think this game is way better than OOT in terms of story, it takes you into a more emotional journey and discovery of character, you see how the characters and situations evolve in relation in the decisions you make. You can restart the time limit by playing the song of time and your objective can different each time, whereas in OOT your objective is always the same and you don't get to fully know the rest of the characters and their situations.

It's interesting how nintendo left many of this cutscenes so that hardcore players may notice. I mean It's a prove they put a lot of effort in making this game in just one year after ocarina of time was released. This game has a dark and more interesting story line than OOT but it's way too underrated by it's prequel i'm not saying that OOT was bad it's one of my favorites but It's a shame this game is just ignored. Sorry for my bad english

@PerseusLP OoT was realesed in November of 1998 and MM was released in April of 2000 so that is more or less 17 Months... 2 years are at least 24 months so it's a year and a half i was going to write that but the comment box is to small captain obious.

Yeah, the glitchy and unfinished japanese version was released back then, but those are the release dates for the highly fixed versions in the rest of the world:
USA - 26. Oktober 2000
Australien - 16. November 2000

@PerseusLP So? what i mean is nintendo tried really hard to make this game, the original Mujura no Kamen was already finished and released in japan by april and the other versions of the game were released later for translations and other changes like the owl save statues.. besides they have almost all the glitches that the original has just a few bugs were "fixed" but the majora's mask games all around the world are more glitched than a pokemon game. "highly fixed"? pff..

@PerseusLP I already now the japanese one and the other versions are different i've seen those videos already those bugs were removed from the later ports look i'm sorry if i've been rude ok? what i mean was even if it was more bugged than the others, the game WAS released in April and it proves how much work nitendo put into it. If you don't believe that the other versions are glitched then watch things like infinite sword glitch or bomb hovering in MM on youtube and tell me they are not.

@PerseusLP you sure are stubborn geez the game was released one year and a half and periot if you want an MM exclusive glitch then there is recoil fliping or angled long jumping or megafliping while hovering etc.. bye.

@Hibiki7soul Its cool dude. Ya know the only thing I don't like about Majoras Mask is that Link never finds Navie. Remember at the beggining he is searching for her and eventually gets caought up in all this mess? I wish he could have seen her again.

@777Rowen The game starts with navi leaving link and he starts looking for her, and Skull kid starts becoming evil and paranoid because the giants left him but in the end those same giants saved Skull kid from Majora. The game is teaching you the importance of believing in your friends and having faith, like when zelda gives link the Ocarina before all begins she had faith in link, I like to think that at the end Link went back home with Zelda and if he has faith Navi will come back to him.

@Hibiki7soul what make majora suck agaisnt OoT wasnt the plot or this kind of detail but the lack of dungeons which are the meat of the series, the miniquest to get useless masks was generally annoying as well, that was the reason majora didnt live up to OoT

@Anemite That's more like your own interest in the game, but that's ok, when i was playing it i actually wanted to do the sidequests and it didn't felt boring at all the mask aren't useless they are suppossed to be tied to a specific NPC story and have their own meaning the lack of dungeon really didn't matter to me what would you rather watch a good but really long 12 hour movie or watch a better 2 hour one?Even the dungeon number has its meaning 4 giants, 4 dungs, 4 places,it's everywhere.

@Hibiki7soul actually not, most of the reviews from the game, both from "professional" reviews to random players said the same thing and i agree, the dungeons are the main reason why zelda is so amazing and Majora lack of them, the sidequests to me were boring but that is debatable, and for the dungeons, if they want to they could add8 giants instead of 4 to match up the story

@Anemite Yes all i said about liking the sidequest was from my own point of view,and yes like i said already i know all about the reviews and people saying it sucks because X or Y reason and that it's a shame that the game it's ignored,but honestly videogamers and videogamers reviewers aren't exactly the most open-minded people in the world because usually they make the mistake of analysing gameplay and nothing more since this game doesn't follow the favorite save the princess plot it "sucks"

Nah that doesn't matter it's a Zelda game so it must have the cliche bunch of ramdom dungeons bla bla trust me dude i'm tired of hearing the same story i actually know a few people even Speedrunners that say this game is better handsdown but that is because they actually played it deeply not just finishing it over and over again it's like reading a book and analysing deeply. But they don't know what that is...

@Hibiki7soul OoT has an excellent soundtrack, much more memorable that MM, character development is superior to MM, as for the plot i agree with you, i prefer MM, but MM doesnt have any memorable character, the mask seller, the couple, the rehash characters from OoT,none, as for the dungeons, they were were everything but random, all fit the plot very well, but i admit that i love 2 of the dungeons in MM (the underwater in the last), they were very well though
