  • I'm from a different generation and usually spend a lot of time whining about the piss poor quality of today's music. But, I just discovered this group....and I have shoved a sock into my own mouth for today. This is pure, beautiful, REAL music. Wow, I'm more than blown away. Seriously. ^_^

  • @SomethingReal1119 this a cover of John Martyn but your right there amazing

  • Quite possibly the most beautiful song I have ever heard before.

  • aaah, why are the good songs always the short ones! ><

  • don't dislike it but the original is waaaaaaay better!

  • Mmm.. maybe it's because I grew up with John Martyn's version but I'm not keen on this. It's not very different but this guy's voice is a tad too whingey. Not that I've anything against people who prefer this but it's just not for me.

  • @edbad85 thankyou for giving your valued opinion in a sensible matter. :)

  • My Godfather does a cover of this song, it's simply magical... xxxx

  • This sounds like a dealer's advert to LSD.

  • This song is beautiful.

  • i think john martyn is alot better singer than this man but a great cover

  • @corty1987 hes deffinatly not a better singer, better guitarist but this is a better version!

  • this is the cutest song ever, you just cant hate bombay bicycle club

  • wow

  • Does this sound like ticket to ride or is it just me?

  • how sweet! :)

  • same guitar as 'the giantess'

  • maybe we will find a thousand sugar fish and when you eat them they will grant your every wish <3

  • this song is my lifeeeee

  • This is a beautiful version. True I think John Martyn would have appreciated it very much.

I think John Martyn was a remarkably original singer.

  • Lovely cover version.

  • This song is perfect for taking me away from my troubles

  • This version to me has an almost more hipnotic effect to John Martyns...

  • One of my favourite songs off the Flaws album.

  • john martyn should be the man known as the person who did a cover of this song cause B.BC just OWWWNNNEDDD

  • @nsn4eva You philistine bastard.

  • @4450mills EH IT WAS JUST A COMPILEMENT MATE calm down ?

  • @4450mills read trough all the comments everyone thinks this version is better so stop fuckin moaning ya "philostine bastard " ?

  • I love this song, I had no idea until just now it was a cover, having just been pointed towards the John Martyn original by a friend. But I think as good as the original is I prefer this version, it's so beautiful.

  • I like this cover but I find it really sad when people don't realise that John Martyn was the original writer. His version was better and more classic but I think it's been done justice by Bombay Bicycle Club.

  • The lead singer's voice reminds me of Artie from "Glee".

  • @silvergreengaint I've alwaysthoughtthis. itsoundseven more like him in Always Like This.

  • as much as i love john martyn, i think i prefer this version.

they have slowed it down a touch and given it a mood that just takes this song where it should be.

  • can't help but :)

  • I'm in love with this song. And the whole Flaws album. It is flawless.

  • Vocals don't match John Martyn's depth - but a very good cover all the same.

  • I think John Martyn would be quite pleased with this - lovely guitar work; better voice than John - who wasn't the greatest singer.

  • @quaich14 Wasn't the greatest singer? His was described as a pure romantic, with a voice to calm the devil. In my opinion he had one of the greatest male voice I have ever heard.

This is a good cover though, lovely to see good music circulating back into mainstream music.

  • @quaich14 John used his voice like an instrument and it sounded brilliant but I do take your point in that he would most likely be pleased with this :)

  • @quaich14 Eh? JM was an incredible singer! From sweet vocals in his early stuff, to the vocal tour de force of albums like Inside Out to the roar and rasp of later years. He made his voice into an instrument, swooping, diving, buzzing, slurring - a vocal giant.

  • @VenLon Must agree. I think this version is fantastic but it can never quite stand up to the original!

  • @quaich14 john wasn't the greatest singer? that's... christ.

  • john martyn cover woooh

  • beautiful.
