  • You know, I don't know who had the original version, just remember reading in an interview with RP that the had heard it in his travels....

  • On the Addictions album that includes this song, there is a translation of the lyric.

  • @keithybee48 If you click 'show more' just under the video, the lyrics in English are there :)

  • I know Robert Palmer's music have always been ahead of its times, but it is eerie to hear him singing about a man and his gun in Urdu, a language that is spoken in Pakistan, given the World's current situation. Too bad we may never know why he chose the language. I beginning to think he might have been one in a billion.

  • anyone who has the lyrics translation into English or the original Urdu lyrics care to share?

it is like searching for "Red October" via Google, so my last hope is this thread. :-) Any help appreciated

  • @optical10 If you click the little drop-down arrow beside my original comments below the video, the English translation is there.

  • It was an inspired idea ~ the hands really do "fit" the music :-)

  • Those photos are amazing! Interesting video!!

  • Thank you kind lady :)

There was just something about the image of 'henna hands' that I felt suited the atmosphere of the music, especially the first picture...
