Spearfishing Wisconsin winters

nice! seems like lots of fun just spearing carps and buffalos. does anyone know how to fish open water during winter months? the fish seems really inactive but they'd probably take a bait or something..

I LOVE IT!!! I went to UW Madison. Used to windsurf and swim on Mendota...but never tried spearfishing Carp. ..and you had some nice stringers of good eating fish as well...

@Freedive101 - He's fed a few muskies in the past. The Biggest carp so far by our group is about 43 lbs.
