@coster993 I'll be going over to Brittany in October & I'll be taking the Volvo again if it's still going. I have a spare reconditioned engine for it but I doubt if I'll have the time to fit it before then. The car is fine apart from the engine is noisy & it burns a bit of oil. Old Volvos tend to keep going for years & years, I hope! LOL

I think it's so clever how they plan the loading so perfectly, especially to end up with you and the other car slap bang outside the lifts like that, genius!

I live in Plymouth and always enjoy watching these things sail out to sea. One thing bothers me about this clip though, the prick in front with the hazard lights flashing. Typical mainland Europeans. Not a sodding clue how to drive. WHERE'S THE HAZARD DUDE...TURN 'EM OFF! I bet he's the type of idiot who turns on his fog light in a little bit of mist!

My hazard lights are on too, you can hear the flasher unit clicking. It's to let the crew know you have someone in the car who needs wheel chair access or has a walking disability so they can park you next to the lifts. I know what you mean though especially with the rear fog lights. The worst for me is when people use them at night when it's raining you can't see a bloody thing! lol

Ah I see! The first time I watched this vid - I had no sound. Seemed like he was just driving round unaware he had his hazards on. I'm glad you told me that as my mum is disabled so if I ever take her I'll know. Lived in Plymouth most of my life and never been to France on one of these ships, despite seeing them everyday from where I work, and working on them when I was 16. Daft innit!

It's a very nice ship but it's not as big as the Pont Aven. My last trip on the Amorique was in July. The weather was very rough & the ship rolled about quite a bit. It reminded me of the old Pont L'Abbe!

It is definitely good to drive your car on a ship and then the next day drive in another country. its priceless
