  • I love this reference

  • Comment removed

  • He is also in the opening scene of the newer Indiana Jones film, he is one of the FBI agents who interrogates Indie...

  • Janitor...

  • @mrwhippy123 In the last episode he says it is Glenn Matthews. But after Jd leaves the room someone else calls him Tommy. So I say his name is Jani T. Ore!

  • @mrwhippy123 in the last episode he says his name is glenn mathews

  • I absolutely love it when actors make fun of themselves like this! :D

  • @mrwhippy123 actually, in the bonus disc, creator Bill Lawrence admits that the name he tells J.D. in the Season 8 finale is in fact his real name. So the Janitor's name is Glen Matthews

  • Fuck

  • Scrubs 301

  • Neil Flynn was actually in The Fugitive.

JD recognizes the Janitor (Neil Flynn) in The Fugitive.

As a consequence, the Janitor's name is Neil Flynn.

  • he wuz also inindiana jones 4

  • what Fing episode is this :K

  • it's meta funny

  • what episode is this?

  • Ive been called many a thing.. backstabber, zebra poacher, Josh. And ive accepted these because each one bears a ring of truth but i have never been nor will ever be stupid! - Janitor

  • @mrwhippy123 actually bill lawrence confirmed it is glen matthews

  • Yeah. Glen Mathews is seriously not his name, that's the point in someone else calling him tommy right after.. Bill said we'll never find out his name.. So we'll probably never find out his name.

  • you know if the janitor really was an actor it would explain why he was so good at lying, and why he doesn't seem to ever clean anything.

  • @mrwhippy123 until they come out with an announcement it's glenn matthews to me. i'm pretty sure they left some kind of ambiguity in there as a joke to make everyone facepalm. it's as official as it'll get i'd think

  • @Schpudd

Didn't Bill Lawrence say that Glen Matthews was just another fake name, in some interview for the new Scrubs?

  • @mrwhippy123 well Bill Lawrence and Neil Flynn have both said before in interviews that they agreed upon to Janitors real name

  • oh wow he is really in the movie, i just looked on IMBd!

  • @mrwhippy123 yes they have.. in one of the last episodes they finally reveal what his name is.

  • @1994Lasse1994 no they didnt.when he says its glenn matthews, a couple seconds later an orderly says "wassup Tommy"

  • anyone know the song on at the end?

  • in Indiana Jones 4 he plays on og the FBIagents, never recognized that ^^

  • That's so genius.

  • isn't it glen matthews? oh wait no, its tony. (someone who knows would get that joke) thats his name, season 8, last episode.

  • the fugitive is on itv right now... I SHALL C THE JANITOR

  • Brilliant piece of writing and breaking the fourth wall

  • who is to say that maybe "failed actor known as Neil Flynn" was just another alias. like, Dr. Jan Itor

or Glen Mathews or even JOSH (Janitor Of Sacred Heart)

  • Y'know, since they established that the Janitor was in the fugitive that means that the Janitors name actually is just neil flynn.... just a thought there lol :P

  • In the last episode he says his name isGlenn Matthews

  • if I recall, they DO call him Glenn Matthews, but right after when JD walks away someone calls him something else.....I don't remember the exact details.

but I believe his name is STILL a mystery.

  • ya but then a guy calls him tony

  • Comment removed

  • Okay... Firstly, I'm not a guy so let's not be calling me sir. Secondly, I am most definitely not an idiot and I'm well aware that Neil Flynn is the actor's name. My point was that since Neil Flynn appeared in The Fugitive (which is a real film in the same way that Neil Flynn is a real person) then technically the fact that the Janitor was in the film then that would make him the actor in the Fugitive i.e. himself...

I was just making a joke and you people are way too serious. pfft.

  • @CarolMcxxx

    I agree with you.

Kinda like Creed Bratton playing a different version of himself in The Office. ^^

  • @CarolMcxxx i understood what you meant carol :)

    these people suck.

  • @CarolMcxxx Unless he's lying to us all and Neil Flynn's a fake name too. :p

  • @CarolMcxxx They confirmed he was telling the truth in My Finale when he said it was Glenn Matthews, though.

  • @KisiroKitsune Then he called himself by a different name after JD left, he was just pulling his leg like he always does

  • @CarolMcxxx u got a point there ! :D

  • 0:40 it sounds like he says "if ya kill anyone i'll kill ya"

  • no, no it doesn't. lol

  • no, he said:

"if you tell anybody, I'll kill you"

    ;)

  • i know he says if you tell anyone i'll kill you, but it just sounded kinda different cuz the way he said it....

  • Neil Flynn also plays the dad in mean girls!!

  • also some voices in the game ratchet and clank xD (just got bored and looked i up :P)

  • he is and he'll always be the janitor :P

  • he plays a cop in baby's day out.

  • He is also in Major League, the first one. just a couple of scenes where he is a construction worker.

  • if you look at the actor's filmography he has played a lot of cops

  • i just realized he also plays the interrogator in indiana jones 4...now everytime i see that scene i can't stop laughing...THE JANITOR !!! YAAAY!!!!

  • wat episode is this?????

  • Fuck, I wish Scrubs would never end...

  • After this last season I´m happy it is, it atleast ended with a few good eps like e15 and e17 but before that the eps were a joke, horribly written compared to s1-7

  • ABC has confirmed there WILL BE a season 9. Zach Braff will appear in the first few episodes. Check out the Hollywood Reporter if you don't believe me.

  • Now I'll never be able to watch that again without bursting out laughing. Juts like how I can't watch Platoon without laughing when I see John C Mcginnley. The humor of Scrubs is infectuos as marketing would have you believe.

  • so wouldn't this mean that his real name is neil flynn in the show scrubs and not something else.

  • hmmmmmmmmmm good thinking :D

  • yes... that's the logic I'm going with. he's playing himself basically. now whenever I see "the fugitive" I can't stop laughing during that dramatic scene that's not supposed to be funny.

  • actually he was credited

  • His real name will be announced in two weeks on the last episode "My Finale"

  • brilliant he actually played that role

  • The Janitor is actually a group of triplets playing and switching to play the same person.

  • His real name is Glen, the same name as a janitor on an animated series produced by Bill Lawrence. Look it up.

  • lmao..I love the way he says "janitor"

  • His name is obviously Jan Itor. Just to throw us all for a loop, he already introduced himself but we didn't believe him.

  • Well dosn't this prove his Janitor name is Neil Flynn, if he's in The Fugitive, his name in the credits are, "NEIL FLYNN" So if Janitor was in it, he has got the name of, Neil Flynn..

  • "you're a fireman... what are we doing?"

  • @ManlySlut i laughed so har d at that i scared myself

  • and cox is in THE ROCK movie ;D;D he is the bad guy

  • So his name is Clause. Cool.

  • Klauss* //

  • Santa Klauss? That doesn't add up.

  • the clip said his name was klauss, you spelled it as clause i.e. santa claus. i was only correcting your spelling.

  • And I said this doesn't add up.

  • no it is tom. Klauss is his name in the movie

  • its not tom either, i know where you got that from its ya, you tellem real quick. When you think about it, since they made him in the fugitive, whre it really is him, mustnt his name be neil flynn?

  • Earlier in the episode he's pretending to be a german named Klauss.

  • I think it's brilliant that they used Neil Flynn's actual career as an aspect of his Scrubs character :D

  • Best Scrubs line EVER!!!

  • love the janitor. cox is funny until uv finished a season then he really gets old. theres way more warmth and comedy between JD and janitor

  • Wow, he's in a movie with Ford twice. Also I was surprised when I saw this in the show, that's awesome that it really was him in the movie XD

  • what episode is this from

  • season 3 episode 8

  • if JD want to know the janitor's real name he could just check the credits in the movie.... but they would say Neil Flynn... so the janitor's real name must be Neil Flynn correct?

  • I'm not sure.. wouldn't put it past the janitor to lie about his name...

  • They're going to announce Janitor's name when Scrubs is done with. I'm pretty sure Neil Flynn gets to decide Janitor's name.

I'd lol so hard if he just named his character Janitor.

  • omg the janitors last name should be dorian and they should be like cousins rofl id laugh like no ones buisness

  • Nah it would be crap if his name was janitor! but he is deciding him self, seeing as he decides most things, including script on the spot, for his character, so itll be great!

  • That makes the most sense

But im hoping its not that simple

  • did he not just call him 'Klaus'

  • i dont mean this badly (honest) but im guessing u just stumbled across this clip and dont really watch scrubs that much or at all.

  • how do ya mean? scrubs is my favorite programme.

  • your not meant to look at it like that! he has no name yet! there are NO clues as to what it is! neil hasn decided yet!

  • There's quite a lot of actors who don't use their real name though isn't there. Also maybe in the Scubs version of The Fugitive The Janitor may have been uncredited.

  • Oh yeah, I remember now! He was the FBI agent after Indy was involved in the nuclear explosion!!

I didn't catch the Neil Flynn/Harrison Ford connnection!!! DAMN!!!!

  • ha ha ya when i saw the new indy i noticed that also

  • Your an actor!

Your a fireman! What are we doing?

    THAT CRACKS ME UP EVERYTIME!!!

  • When I went to see Indiana Jones, it took quite a bit for me to not burst out loud and say, "Janitor!"

  • lol, me too.

  • I did

  • neil flynn is in the new indiana jones movie!!!!

  • I haven't seen Ironman to know that I quoted a line from it. Sorry.

Well, this could continue, I see that. I do agree that JD on occasion does degrade non-doctors (see episode with Carla) surgeons degrade non-surgeons and interns get dumped on by everyone, but I don't think that the Dan episodes or the Janitor thing is of the same ilk - particularly the Dan storyline.

What you seem to be doing is seeing more than is actually there.

Your friend is your friend regardless of what she does.

  • why didnt jd look at the credits?

  • Because he doesnt no what his real name is!

    DUH!

  • The Janitor doesn't have a character name, its just Janitor, anyone who disagrees are just plain wrong, The Janitor's name in Scrubs is JANITOR, they haven't told you what the Janitor's real name is yet, but if/when they do it will probably be the last episode, or a special of some kind.

  • yeah they do that to all the supposed low-life professions in the show to add to their low-lifeness, in other words its funny that they dont deserve names, often makes me wonder if ppl who really do those jobs are at all offended, they even downplay JD's brother for being a bartender too, like the only way to be somebody in the world is to be a doctor, which isnt good for society to think... what are your guys' thoughts on that aspect of the show?

  • Too much thought in that. Janitor's name is a running joke whether he's a janitor or not and JD's brother Dan being a bartender isn't a reflection on bartending itself. If you watched the episode, its a reflection on Dan being afraid to try anything in life, and therefore lives at home and has a job where he doesn't need to challenge himself. JD even mentions that there isn't anything wrong with tending bar, but Dan isn't trying at anything - and JD doesn't respect THAT of his older bro.

  • Too much thought? No, people don't think enough. There are messages in everything. It doesn't matter if he says bartending is alright, the message is clear: people who don't go to college and get challenging jobs are subordinate. Yes, I know it's a joke, but the subconscious doesn't understand jokes. It's all psychology.

  • I respectfully disagree. Actually, the message was a guy in his 30's who still lives with mommy and has an unrewarding job where he doesn't need to try and hasn't tried in anything yet - has an issue. I do agree there is a message there, I just think bagging on bartenders isn't it.

That's the whole point of the episode and the Dan character, being the non-ambitious and immature older brother of young doctor.

It seems like you're the one who looks down on bartenders, instead of it being JD.

  • Ok, Ironman. I don't look down on bartenders. My friend is a bartender and I love her. You're forgetting that I'm not only talking about Dan, but the Janitor (a main character who remains nameless) and basically everyone in the cafeteria jobs (who also remain nameless because they are lower than everyone else, ie. doctors, nurses), and other people like that who I'm sure have slipped into a few episodes here and there. I haven't even seen them all.

  • Ironman? I don't even get that.

Once again, the Janitor doesn't have a name on purpose - that's the joke - and Dan could live with his mom and not have a job at all. The message would be the same - he's content with not trying anything that he considers hard. I've seen only about 1/8 of the episodes of the series and I've already seen several cafeteria people with names

By the way, you've now degraded blue collar workers twice and the 'I have a friend who is...' is never a good defense.

  • You quoted a line from Ironman. Lol omg, I haven't degraded anybody. I'm saying the show has. It doesn't matter if it's a joke. Commercials use comedy to send ridiculous messages at you all the time. So I'm the guilty one for noticing the guilty? What is this, Salem in the 1600s? So being friends with a bartender isn't enough? How about the fact that I almost decided to be a bartender a couple years ago? Now I'm an EMT which is way more challenging, but I would've been happy as a bartender.

  • Ok, I looked it up. I may have been wrong about the cafeteria. Sloppy Joe Guy's name is Troy, but JD calls him Sloppy Joe Guy out of disrespect. My point remains valid. They are degrading them, not me.

  • JD actually doesn't call him that out of disrespect. He simply views himself as "a man of the people" and just thinks that people love the nicknames.

  • Keep telling yourself that.

  • Its a comedy show, its done for comedy, no one is guilty of anything, cant ye just drop it?!

  • we already dropped it 5 months ago. thanks for bringing it back up in such an ironic way tho, entertaining

  • Then i guess my job here is done! sorry i dont read the dates, just the comments!

  • I MET HIM!!!

  • omg lucky

  • Neil Flyn is his real name..

  • suprise ending to Scrubs: The Janitor's actual name is Janitor Dude (his parents were a bit drunk at the time), therefore making his nicname JD.

    x33

  • you cut it before the funny part you noob

  • sorry, im the noob. i posted before the video was done loading

  • anyway the funny part was cut!

  • LOL I loved how they did this! This is why Scrubs rules.

  • I've heard that when they reveal Janitor's real name, it'll be the end of the series.

  • "you're an actor!"

    "you're a fireman...what're we doing?"

    hahaha

  • i janitor is my fav

  • you tell anybody, i'll kill ya

  • is he in the film ? for real

  • YES

  • "You're an actor, you're a fireman"

the funniest line from scrubs ever

  • i totally agree. i posted that on another video a minute ago

  • haha i dnt realise he didnt hav a nme until it was pointed out by jd in the show

  • haha that is so funny i loved that episode. the janitor is my FAVVV!!!

  • lol how weird this show is I had to check to see if he was really in the film.

  • me too

  • he even calls himself Dr.Jan Itor!

  • its not they never say his name , every1 calls him janitor and his name tag dosn't have a name. The writers do that on purpose to make him less human and also to show that he is a shady character.

  • "You're an actor." "You're a fireman. What are we doin?"

  • would be cool if his name in the show would really be Neil Flynn

  • You don't know it's not, his real name hasn't been revealed.

  • he real name is tom

  • From Wikipedia: "It has been speculated that his name was revealed in the episode "My Buddy's Booty", when one of his friends appears to say "Nice one, Tom.". However, when listening closely, it is clear that the line is actually "Nice, you tell 'em", which is confirmed by the script. "

  • no its not , stfu with that. u guys r so dumb who believe that

  • it is him, u are the dumb one

  • no i was talkin to the person who said his real name is "tom", it isnt.

  • sorry bro ;)

  • its all good

  • i reckon his name will be revealed in the last episode, and im guessing it will probs be a JD of sum sort :P

  • Made this video because theres not a decent version anywhere, i thought this was helarious when i first saw it on the scrubs episode so thought this would be a good addition to The Janitor fan base.

  • thank ya. ive been looking for it.
