CPS is Clinton Parks Stable, on 52nd street in nyc.another horse named Muffin was killed by it's driver from overworking,this driver don't normally walk a horse,he runs instead.Muffin couldn't take it anymore,it was an old horse,this happened in december 2011,around christmas.I was in the business to make money not to love horses,but I felt sorry for Muffin.I wish IRS, USCIS and US attorney's office for their federal crimes and NYC&Company, Avella, ASPCA wipe them off the map or new york soon...

Friend: Who or what is CPS? Is it a stable? Did a horse die there? Please let us know since I am new to this, but find it very intriguing. I don't like to see the horses on the street, but I was not aware of the corruption. Now I understand that it is an all cash business with no documentation. It is a breeding ground for tax cheats. I hear that legislation is being considered in the Council that would require people to buy tickets to take a ride No money would change hands between the customer and the driver. There have been too many complaints where people have been overcharged and also charged sales tax.

Central Park Conservancy would create a booth near the hack line to sell the tickets.

The Bloomberg administration has to know that the carriage drivers are underreporting their income, if they're reporting it at all. It's an all cash business. They refuse to make a change that would require them to take credit cards. They illegally charge sales tax. They overcharge unwitting customers. Meanwhile, NYC residents ingest the horse manure that paves the lower loop of Central Park, and the City uses our tax dollars to clean it up. Why do Bloomberg and Quinn protect this industry?

More cruelty issued are in place in the horse carriage industry and the ASPCA does NOT control over, according to a former driver who was fired from clinton park stables. Wow, I saw the video about their overcharge.This is unbelievable. There are many actual videos where they overcharge shamelessly.So that means it is even way more than millions of dollars than Tony Avella estimates.I received a recent complaint from a family of Luisiana, she says that they paid 235 dollars plus the tips for a ride that took less than 60 minutes, the horses name was Balto,they don't remember the driver's name,later they found that its only $ 50 for 20 minutes.This is rip off!!!

There are 3 main websites that sell special carriage rides in NYC. They charge between 150 dollars to 300 dollars for the ride that is 40-45 minutes, nothing is less than 90 dollars. Why Eva Hughes is not saying one word about this rip off? Because one owner of one of these websites threatened the entire business badly, to inform the IRS for their tax crimes, if they stopped him doing business over internet. Wow, this is impressive, I want to congratulate that person who scared Eva Hughes too:)

Consumer Affairs ignores it, allowing the carriage industry to overcharge significantly on their web sites. The legal rate for a carriage ride is $50 for the first 20 minutes with $20 for each additional 10 minutes. It does not matter whether you make a reservation through these web sites or pick up a ride on the street. Entitled? You bet. I hope the IRS can circumvent all this.

We also know about the undocumented immigrants who obtained carriage license. How come NYC DCA can license and legalize someone to work in the US, who is not allowed to work legally??? It smells fishy! Permitting foreign individuals to work in the US is in USCIS' s jurisdiction, so no local government agency (NYC DCA) is authorized to practically legalize any foreign individual, especially the undocumented, to work in the US. If the industry has nothing to worry about, then they can rest easy - it is only an administrative nuisance. But if they have anything to hide, which we all believe they do, then maybe their game is up. After all, both Al Capone and OJ Simpson were imprisoned for income tax evasion -- not murder.

Let's see how far the owners can get away with their tax evasion.The videotape is clear:The entire business made (daytime) 15.300 rides that roughly makes $ 918.000 in only 15 days of 365 days.Nighshift made around $300.000 in the same 15 days.They should TOTALLY RETURN around $1million gross income. The industry' s association leaders are mentioning at this city hall hearing their revenue as $15million, when the rate card was $34, but it is $50 now. They make not less than $25 MILLION-CASH-UNRECORDED-NO RECEIPT/ A YEAR since the rate card change. This is the best chance to attack on the industry, since uncle sam doesn' t forgive tax evasion, and it is clear that they don't pay their taxes, so this wiould just wipe the business off the streets of New York, to end up the cruelty to horses!!!

Thanks Tony Avella, for bringing up the tax issues up to the attention of the IRS. The entire is shaking with the letters that they received from IRS and USCIS. USCIS asked the employers to return the I9 forms for their employees, as the IRS asked the employers to get the SS-8 forms filled out and returned. This is the end of the road. We will not be seeing these pretty creatures on the streets of New York, overtiming, going to Times Square at 9pm, overloading more than 4 adults.Thank Mr.Avella.
