does anyone know where i can find a mustache bar for it? i'm 6' & it's a cramped ride.i fig that bar & maybe forward controls.btw..they look better without the emblem on tank..monochromatic look is sweet....
i have the same bike i didnt feel likepaying $400 for a new set of pipes and rejet kit so i de gutted my pipes and what a differance it made, so if your thinking on buying, think about doing that
I have this same bike and same year. I had it custom painted, and had the star name and logo painted over. Bike looks so much better. I will be posting a video once I get my short pipes on there, which I will make sure to paint black. This is a sweet bike and very low and easy to ride. I'm also going to wrap my new pipes with exhaust tape in order to get a little more powere, which wouldn't hurt on this bike...
its a yamaha...so no.....my mom just got this bike, looks nice but its a pos i fucking hate it but she loves it so whatever....alot of chrome is fake, everything is so cheap cut corners everywhere.sounds like a fucking moped, theres no tach, no fuel gage, fucking 1940s technology with the shaft drive...the brakes are off a fucking bicycle and right out of the 40s aswell...the suspension is made of playdoh, windscreen is floppier than my dick after seeign your mom, slow as a snail..
I have the same 650vstar bike Stock pipes like this one. I didn't think the Sound was important for Safety Purpose I can not Heard it my self on the Highway I notice that at least Drivers be more Aware of where the Sound come from. Can some One recommend me what kind of pipes or mod can I do to get lauder and what brand? if it matters.I Will Appreciated Much!!
I have the SAME bike. same yr, paint scheme. love the black on black. first to be changed will be the pipes, second, I hope to find some pegs a little more forward, third, I will powder coat the rims.
From a fellow V-Star Classic ('01) rider...very NICE black-out paint scheme...I'm envious! To anyone considering this bike as an entry-level or novice rider, check out my video of my youngest son learning to ride my bike when he was 13...this is without a doubt a great bike to get started on, yet keep on riding after you get experienced on. Even riding two-up, it will handle anything that comes its way, even in the north Georgia mountains. Again, great lookin' bike, juanmanuel...
what did you use to remove that small sticker on the gas tank, underneath the speedometer? I tried peeling it off but it's really stuck on there...and i'm afraid to scratch the paint.
I just asked that on Yahoo answers. everyone suggested goo gone. I looked at some goo gone tonight and it seems like it won't hurt anything. still nervous though. I also tried to peel it off with very little results.
I bought my 08' vstar 650 custom last year..and I love it! I'm getting some Vance and Hines short shot exhaust installed next weekend..and i'm thinking about getting drag bars on it..
I looked at and sat on an '09 Vstar 650 Midnight the other day. Perfect for my short legs (5'7) and black as pitch, even the rims are black on the '09! As far as the cc's go, at my age 80-85 is as fast as I'd ever wanna go, and the gas I would save! (my work commute is 50 miles, one way). Now if only I can sell a couple of vehicles I have I just may have enough to buy one outright. Ohhhh I hope I hope I hope I hope!
Extremely easy, there's only one nut on the end of the fender. I just took mine off tonight. However, you will have a bolt sticking out, and there's no way to get rid of it as it is part of the subframe. If you buy a decorative nut piece like a skull, an 8-ball, whatever, it should cover it up nicely.
im sooo hoping to get one of these this weekend. i've wanted a bike for years and this will be my first. all they had at the shop was the 1100. dont need all that first my first bike but they look the same. man it's an awesome bike.
I have a question... My last bike was a 1000cc Yamaha R1 sportbike and now I want to get into cruisers. How does the 650 perform as far as acceleration and overall power? I know it will never get close to what I used to have but that's OK. I just want a comfortable ride. A little power wouldn't hurt and it woul dbe nice if it cruised at 70mph.
Would anyone think that this is a good beginner bike? I really want to start off with a 250 but I fell I will outgrow quickly. Any help would be great.
definitely!!this is my first bike and im very happy with it!you can ride it on the highway with no problem..75 and 80mph.save gas and money...45 or 50m gal
Oh thats great! I was wondering about highway stuff but know I know. and ya it good that the it saves gas cuz where I live the gas is like !3.60ish and premium is like almost $4! I heard that sum people get 60-75 mpg too. Well thanx!
I have a 2002. I have ridden a harley sportster and a soft tail, 97katana 600, 07gsxr750,and an 02yamaha R6. this is by far the most comfortable and easiest to drive. Im 6'3" and 270...to streach out my legs i just sit on the back seat when im on the hiway. this an EXCELLENT first bike
