Nah not really. If you have kids, they'll usually be good around kids. If you don't, and they aren't used to children, they might be uneasy around them. Chows are very stubborn and training can be quite difficult, I prefer exposing them to different dog and kids while they are playful puppies so they'll get used to them, rather than just trying to train him to "sit" or "stay."
Chow chows have a huge range in price! It depends if they are purebred or mixed and also if they have papers (the list goes on and on). Chow chows range from around $500 - $1,000. It really depends on the breeder/seller. I got my Chow Chow puppy for around $550 with papers and purebred. He (my chow chow) was originally $600 - $700, but I bartered.
@aznkid1452 yea, but they are like the perfect dog! My chow chow never barks unless there is some strange sound which is almost never!! I am a student so i can't play with him all the time while i am doing my homework he just sits next to me and waits till i am done!! Chow chows are so cute you never go home angry knowing that there is a cute giant fluff ball waiting to jump and lick you when you get home!!
@aznkid1452 Part 2 (sorry youtube wouldn't let me post the whole comment) If you are thinking of getting a chow chow i strongly recommend it my family has a total of 5 chows and we are having a huge problem looking at other breeds! So if you do get one i stress only one thing!! It is to get them socialized when they are young.
Part 3 Chows are born, raised and bred to be guard dogs so they are very family oriented. Socializing isn't easy for a chow depending on your dogs personality there could be a bite here or there or nothing at all. Plus chows don't need as much exercise as other dogs do. An average of exercise they have a day is about 30 mins to an hour! my family we walk for like 3 hours a day our chow gets so tired from walking he plops on the floor and naps.

The price depends on where you are for example in Texas chows are very popular so chows and they are everywhere so the price would be lower than in a place that they aren't popular! I live in NY so it took me a long time to find a breeder that had papers. The breeder i found basically breeds chows for a living so we bartered.
chow chows aren't aggressive, they just don't tolerate the way you'd treat a lab in a very rough manner. they're a sleepy bear sort, they love to sit by you quietly and be a watchdog, and they never cry for attention
@Kurama1 they are quite independent and stubborn. They don't like to be teased by high energy dogs, but agressive? nah, not at all! they're different from other dogs, yes, but not agressive. On the contrary, they're quite passive!!

Like all dogs, the aggression depends on the amount of training. My mother grew up with a chow, and it wasn't in the least aggressive!
