drugs used in medicine is given an LD-50 (lethal dose)

aka overdosing LD-50 is the amount of material given all at once that kills over 50% of test animals. researcher have been unable to give an animal enough Marijuana to kill them. at present it is estimated that Marijuana's LD-50 is 1:20000 and the NIDA have said that an average Marijuana cigarette 0.9 grams. what there saying is that to take an overdose you whould need to smoke 15 hundred pounds of it.
