  • Wow. This is very nice. You remind me a lot of Paul McCartney! Please check out my version too, over on my channel!

  • @gombakhillbillies Very nice.

  • You should sing more...

  • Hey Rob --- I found the beginning words and chord changes....Thanks....

  • Rob -- can you PLEASE e-mail me the words and chords to the beginning of this song......You do such a wonderful job on this song......I mean this....very much!

  • gosh thats good and easy to listen to. I have to admit after your faster version I was out of breath!

    Thanks

  • incredible! You are a star!

  • WONDERFUL!

  • That's better. Now slower, for us amateurs....Now I'll get all the chicks.

  • Wonderful! Best I have heard. Ed

  • Rob, however you play it you make it you own. The faster uke version blew me away when I watched it for the first time. Still does as a matter of fact. Can't wait for the video lesson to come out in May. I'll have the old Martin strung with new strings and ready to go. Be well my friend.

  • Thanks for this wonderful rendition Rob. By my count, there are 2 done on uke and 1 on guitar. I love them all! Thanks for all you do for the YouTube guitar community. ... FolkRockerYT

  • I know. I got such negative comments about the faster uke version, I decided to post a rendition that is more along the lines of how th song was intended to be played.

  • If you are going to take song suggestions, how about McCartney's "When I'm 64", or Hurricane Smith's "Oh, Babe". Just a thought. I'm sure you have nothing better to do than take requests.

  • Wow, that would be hard. I can sometimes get away with singing a light little tune like this, but a song that everyone has heard, and expects to sound a certain way is tough.

I'll give on of those a try, but I will take a big hit on the ratings.

  • I've listened a few times now and that is a great McCartney sounding Woo hoo at the end.

  • That was supposed to sound like a singing saw at the end. LOL

    I am losing it.

  • well none the less it sounded great!

and yeh, the ukulele is cool.

and yeh school is going great. iv finished all my advanced electric guitar lessons and theres nothing for me to move onto now lol. i am thinking about learning the banjo but im still not sure. i really want to though. hows things in the U.S?

    all the best,

    - Josh

  • Things in Michigan are going great. Our economy is excellent, people are making lots of money, and everything is going very well.

My name is Pinocchio an my nose is 3 feet long.

  • lol. things are bad here two. atleast your country is being run by someone who knows what he's on about. gordon brown is an idiot lol.

  • you got it all Rob, have you seen Joe Browns tribute to George Harrison? Make you cry!!

  • Yes, I love Fretkiller's rendition too.

  • singin' is first rate. well as the playin';-), a serenade to swoon for.................say, you takin requests?;-)

  • I wish I sang half as well as you do.

So, what do you want to hear?

  • anything, anything at all..it this post just ended way too soon, that's all...I'll just hit replay till I'm saturated:-) Glad to see you've got a posting back I will be sharing this with a uke friend or two..have a super day-Laurie

  • holy cow.

i didnt know you could sing too!!

  • I wouldn't exactly call it singing, but I'm not really that shy. I used to sing at a lot of gigs, and sometimes people would throw stuff. Oh well, ukulele is a great instrument to use for backing yourself up, because no one takes it that seriously.

    How is school going buddy?

  • Rob I would be happy to have you as a teacher even for ukelele.Shame I live really far :-)Respect!

    George

  • Just get SKYPE software for your computer. The download is free, and so are the calls, and you can use your computer like a video phone. That's how I do 90% of my lessons now.

  • Rob, I have a good friend named Rob. He was always called "Bob" by new teachers or new friends. For fun we nicknamed him "Bob" . I see him regularly to this day and still call "Rob" Bob. Sorry old habits are harder to break than learning to play my guitar.. Keep the videos coming !

    Tony

  • This is great! I love this song!

  • Great voice and instrumental!!!

    super!!

  • One of my all time favourites. Fun to listen to and play

  • WHere can I find tabs for this song ? I love this song, it reminds me of George Harrison.

  • You don't need tab. I am going to have a slow motion video lesson, coming out on May 1st for all of my subscribers.

  • You are THE BEST !!!

  • You sing real good.

  • Nice one. One of my favorite songs played with fun .

  • Thanks. It has always been one of my favorites too. I like the Cliff Edwards version. I know it is over done today on Youtube, but I thought it would make a good slow motion lesson, and a way to promote my ukulele lessons starting in May.

  • Hi Rob. I think you have a very good voice and I dont need a hearing aid.//Phil

  • Take 10,223 was better than the others so I posted it. I am destroying the rest of the evidence.

  • hei rob, you have a cool voice XD keep on!

  • Thanks. I had to do a bunch of takes before I got a keeper. You should have heard the rejects.

  • hahahah

    hail Rob!

  • Learning to play a full size acoustic with a 1.75 neck is tough enough for my knarly old hands. I find it hard to believe anyone could play such a small instrument that well, and it sounds great too. Bob you are very gifted... You sing pretty good too...

  • Thanks Tony.

I was playing a little banjo uke when I was a kid, and my fingers got used to the small spaces, while I was young, so as my fingers got bigger, they knew exactly where to go.

    It is a squeeze though.

    Thanks for the nice comments.

  • i dont play the uke or anything but I dug this song the way you did it!

  • Thanks Nick.

  • A nice version -- you don't have to do too much more with this song to get the full tune on the uke (is that a Martin?).

  • Pretty good, ole son. You have a nice voice for that song.

  • You finally have convinced me. You now need a hearing aid too.

  • You are no Jaaaaaaa or SweetAfton, but you are pretty good; not as pretty as either, though. I like your voice.

  • Great job! Nice chords too.

  • Thanks, it's a great song to improvise over.

  • Gotta find myself a Ukelele now!

    ;-D

  • Very nice, Rob! You have a good voice. What do I need to do to enter the contest?

  • Just make a video, either playing, or just saying why you want lessons, or both, and post it to this video, in the video response section below it.

    Thanks.

  • Thanks.
