  • can you train her not to poop in the house like a dog or to poop in a loo like a cat?

  • @hamatoast Yeah kind of. I use pee pads and put it in her favorite spot then gave treats for going there. They only poop once every day at most anyway. They have a tendency to pee in their beds though.

  • that is precious :) we have been learning about mammals in biology and when we got to edentia with the anteaters i fell in love. i love all animals and i hope to become a wildlife biologist or a vet or something i see from these videos that Pua is a happy little anteater :) you take good care of her. keep up the good work

  • Looks like it wants to go outside, sounds like it's whining about being stuck inside with nowhere to forage. These amazing creatures do not belong in captivity!

  • @killertr She gets out in the woods for hikes regularly and in the summer in the yard. She runs back to the car or pulls on the carry bag to get in when she's done and tired of walking. She obviously thinks differently than you do.

  • This is the first time I have seen this video. I went to the link or Pua to educate me. Thank you very much for that link. I know you "lost" Stewie. I am so sorry for the loss of that little rascal. Do you still have Jake, Quasi and Hyzzie?

  • @chihuahuabulldog Yeah. Jake is a youngster of just a year. Kat is 15, Quasi is 14, Hyzzie is 11 and Jupiter is 6(which is getting old for a bunny). So we do have a lot of oldsters. Pua is 5 so still in her prime. 9 is old age for a tamandua but they can live into their teens. Oldest was 19 and a 10 year old had a baby this year.

  • @TamanduaGirl I so hope you get to have Pua's baby (not actually YOU HAVE lol). Too bad the daddy didn't get to be Stewie. I suppose that Kat is a CAT?? I know you enjoy your diversified family. Thank you for letting others share in it too! Ann and Daisy Oh, do you have another channel for your other pets?

  • @chihuahuabulldog Yeah Kat is a cat. She didn't want to answer to anything else when I got her. No I just have the one channel they make it in here rarely. You can find photos of them on Flickr under the same user name and I have a blog called Living with Anteaters.

  • @TamanduaGirl Duh....what is Flickr??

  • @chihuahuabulldog It's a photo sharing website. You can still see the pictures without being signed up.

  • @TamanduaGirl Cool! Was Spirit a Guinea Pig? I saw one picture of the white dog and a few of Jake(?). I see 29 photos.

  • @chihuahuabulldog Yeah i had a pair of guinea pig dropped off and they had babies but I found homes for them. I have literally thousands of photos on there so I'm not sure where you are looking. My domestic pets set(album) has 811 photos in it. Quasi is the white dog.

  • @TamanduaGirl OK!! I had typed it as one word. I tried typing it as two words, and voila!!!! Pictures galore!! Thank you!

  • Opps hit remove instead of reply:

StrawberryGun500 heeft een reactie geplaatst op Pua tamandua in the window:

arnt you afraid hes going to jump out of the window.?

    tail vs cane :D

  • She normally wont try it because they don't have good depth perception so she can't be sure it's not 100 feet down. sometimes she will slide down hanging by her tail to try it but I can pull her back up.

  • yeah dude. its the earth! millions of years and you still cant get it....hahaha...I really like this mammal but it has a tiny brain that even its movement is cranked like in a robot with Pentium 3 inside. an innocent brainless mammal that looks like an alien in '90 cinema.

  • She is absolutely GORGEOUS! I never thought much about anteaters, but Pua has changed my opinion.

  • What an amazing tail!

  • I'd love to get one but....are they legal to own as pets?

  • The laws vary by state, county, and city. So can't say where you are but they are legal where I am.

  • are they soft or are they bristley?

  • Somewhere in between.

  • Can anteaters eat fire ants?

If so, they would be in heaven in Texas.

  • yes they can

  • Question: does she try to flee away? Or are they like dog, very attached to humans once they are domesticated?

  • They do get attached but you can't count on them coming when called either.

  • I wonder what people think when they see her in the window lol xxxx

  • A lot of that is in our FAQ. Linked from my profile but I added it to the video description.

Oldest was 19. The old average was 9yrs but care has gotten better so they should be teens average with good care.

They like to play fight and wrestle and Pua loves going for long hikes.

  • I have a few questions if you don't mind..

    1. How much does it cost to get a tamandua anteater and are they heard to get??

    2. What do they like to eat or drink??

    3. are they difficult house pets(training, feeding, nursing, etc.)

    4. what are they're life spans??

    5. where do they go to the rest rooms??

and 6. what do they like to play or have fun doing??

thank you, and I subscirbed I love anteaters!

  • I love Pua's long tail. I wish I had one.

  • I don't know how you get anything done. I just want to snuggle up and take a snooze with that sweet little girl.

  • I think that is the first time that I've gotten to see Pua still and I have to say what an exquisite being. Love the tail. Is that knocking/"clucking" sound her?

  • That's the camera focusing, bad mic placement on their part.

  • i luv these tamandua videos!!!
