  • them engines are spectacular and sound wicked running together! thanks-4-the vid!

  • How did you manage to visit the engine rooms?

  • What a powerfool engines.105 000 HP.

  • Gorgeous! Alas, I still prefer the reactor room on an LA-class sub...

  • I bet that engine room is so clean, you could eat off the floor . . lol : )

  • for some reson this make me want to build a model

  • After 45 years at sea I've had 2 Wartsila genartors blow up on me, would sooner have a large slow speed main engine than these medium speed

  • @theold49er, what model?

I don't think that the 46 has any major reliability issues. The pros of having this kind of propulsion machinery in a cruise ship far outweighs the cons, which are mainly increased complexity and maintenance, and perhaps marginally lower availability when a single engine is concerned.

  • It's white ! What a difficult job to maintain the cleanliness in it ...

  • wow! super nice engine room

  • One could walk around in a shirt and tie whole day and come out spotlessly clean out of that engineroom, top marks to the engineers!

  • 130,110 hp nice, thats what ricers think their cars have :)

  • @tandaman538 And we're not even getting to the torque. lol

  • She looks perfect for a Poseidon Adventure - I can picture that engine room exploding like in the movie!

  • @kylar16, I don't. What, exactly, would explode in there?

  • i wonder what will happend if u put this engine into a truck!!!

  • @GeorgeChucher it would sink lol

  • @GeorgeChucher it would dig it's way to the centre of the earth lol

  • I wonder how many MPG or FPG!!

  • @gsxer13 make it gallons to the mile xD

  • Nice to see that it's painted white and not a yucky lime green like on some ships.

  • Wow

  • How does work it's cooling system, sorry? I'm just interested...

  • @deejaydein, the engines are water-cooled. The cooling water is cooled in plate heat exchangers with sea water.

  • Thank you for the reply.

  • Amazing. MY area produces that much power.
