I remember this song came out in the same year as "We are the World" by USA for Africa. One is Chinese & the other is English version. I love both of them.
im soo sad now that im watching this song again because a someone special dedicated this to me. I now regret that i rejected him because he is moving on with someone new.
Olden day singers have greater calibre. Rely on mostly pure singing talent rather than good looks alone, unlike modern boy/girl bands. Good looking but can't sing.
Yes fully agreed. My dad used to play tonnes of music at home, and I grew up listening to wonderful music in both Chinese and English, yet have never an idea how most of them looked like. I suppose of the Carpenters are around today, the lead singer would have been dismissed by many!
one of the most endearing songs i have heard thus far, and i didnt expect to find this original video of the singers performing this song. fantastic !!!
The artists are mostly from Taiwan & with some from Hong Kong, but on the start of the video it said "Various artists from Taiwan"? They are not all from Taiwan.
Actually there are quite a few from Malaysia and Singapore too. It was meant to pool together singers from the four big Chinese music markets outside China proper.
Between China , Hong Kong and Taiwan , I think this is the best song ever written. Hong Kong song writers and singers please catch up. Mind you I'm from Hong Kong but feel ashamed of song writing also poor singer's voices
You were born in the late 80s and you actually enjoy this clip? That's kinda surprising coz I was born in the 60s but I can never imagine myself listening to any Mandarin 60's oldies when I was a teenager, haha... Times have changed I guess, these so-called oldies (from the 80s) are not so old sounding after all if young people can still enjoy them. During my time in the 80s it was quite unimaginable to like 60's Mandarin pop, LOL.
I really miss the 80s, so many great singers at that time.
Actually it didn't stop there, after that more giants popped out - Dave Wang Jie, Tom Zhang Yu Sheng, Angus Tung An Ge, Zhao Chuan, Jeremy Zhang Hong Liang, Emil Zhou Hua Jian, Sky Wu Si Kai etc etc....it was a fantstic era for Mandarin music.
Can't say the same about today's standard....sigh.... :(
the days when singing was just about singing, no plastic surgeries or fashion statements whatsoever.. they had disabled person as part of the singers in this video, can u ever imagine that happen today? i so totally missed those days too. literally missed it, i was born in the late 80s.
Although this song is much older than me, i still enjoy it! I can sense the truthfulness from both the singers and the lyrics. All the beauties are natural. Despite the lack of advancement in sound system, i can still differeniate their simple and vigorous vocal skills. Appreciate your effort for uploading this video. Hope to see more of them in future!
