The black bayonet and black bolt carrier are the first signs that this rifle was rearsenalled. My Ruskie has been. Sure doesn't affect the performance.

I'm not sure anything I have is rare n I don't really care if it is. But I have 2 russian sks, one 1949r the other 1950r n the 49 has a stainless bolt n bayonet n the other has both black.

i have a russian sks also. i've done a lot of research but am not going to say anything negative because there are always exceptions to the rule. Usually, black (bbq) paint means it's a refurb. feel free to correct me if i'm wrong though. i hate the black paint, i would only buy a blued one. but the black painted ones are more common i think. either way, coolio.

there is nothing wrong with putting tapco stuff on a russian sks. So long as you don't make any changes that are irreversible. Stocks, bipods, optics (so long as you don't do any drilling) are fine.

@MrSKSkill hey dude, yeah javiEmma is right about the black bolt carrier and/or bayonet. all that means is it's a refurb that they had to paint the bolt carrier and and/or bayonet. Nothing wrong with the rifle though. I mean hell, she's an SKS. :-) happy shooting.

@javiEmma it has been rebuilt, that is what the black (bbq grill) paint is on the receiver and bayonet, you can also see the box with the line through it stamped on the receiver meaning it has been refurbished, you should truely do research before you try saying it is rare, i have an actual 1952 Russian sks from the tula factory and it is not a rebuilt one

@javiEmma i belive ur wrong, a refurbish has a black bolt means refurbished. and y r the gonna refurbish a bayonet. makes no sense, the rifles had had black one since the 50s

@MrSKSkill cool ... i got a question my sks is a 1954r with the atar and arrow inside it and under it has a funny symdol i dont know if its [/] or the letter Z and it has a black resever like the one in the vid. the the symbol mean its rare all i know its a tula thats it any info would be a great help.

i have a black finish bolt carrier on my russian sks as well made in 1954 from tula. What i want is to get at least one mak90 and convert it before the cost goes up on those too like the real chinese aks imported here.

i guess i got a sweet channel wish i had more options to were i could go shooting. I usually go to honey island swamp shooting range but their only open on the weekend and i usually work. Otherwise I would of had more range vids here.

@jayrod68 I just picked up that SKS with the black bayonet Friday, I dont need another sks, its just that its a 1951r in mint condition for $324! Thats $120 less than what I payed For my Yugo a year ago! I think I have a Gun Addiction...
