La Type 821-SMG fu fornita ai NOCS ed è attualmente in armeria, anche se non lo usa più nessuno; qualcuno ce l'ha anche l'ATPI ("Anti-Terrorismo Pronto Impiego" della Guardia di Finanza). Uscì di produzione perché la SOCIMI che la produceva andò in fallimento, pagava le tangenti ai politici milanesi per fornire tram e treni all'ATM di Milano, e non ce la fece più a stare al passo con le richieste dei mangioni e delle banche.
Io ci ho scritto un articolo per ARMI E MUNIZIONI un anno e mezzo fa; era realizzata piuttosto bene per quanto riguarda le parti metalliche (non lamiera stampata ma alluminio aeronautico lavorato per estrusione su spina!), ma le parti plastiche (impugnatura, guardamani, calciolo) erano pessime.

a quanto pare è stao fornito in piccole quantità al NOCS nei primi anni '80, maora non risulta più in uso.
