Is Staffordshire Bull Terrier a healthy dog?

I want to know that from the owners experience...

@RubasJLeone A staffy is a healthy dog. They do not in general have hd or ad problems, but it will always be one or two.. I have two, and I have never heard of health problems within the breeding lines of my dogs. They are wery good at obedience, and agility, and they are also wery good with their nose. It is one of the least popular race because of the temper, but you would gain so much as a dogowner to have one..

I just like to know from the owners experience, cause if you check the health problems of some breeds...Jesus Christ...Look at the English Bulldog! I love bulldogs but they are one of the sickest breeds EVER! I mean, they barely can breath!!!

So i just wanted to confirm if it's true when they say SBT is a healthy dog =)

He is very sweet, for sure, but... but I have no desire to meet him when he is without his muzzle... After the attack of one Rottweiler on my little doggie I don't trust dogs any more... I trust only my own lovely Binga...

@AnaJil thats a great pity, most dogs are absolutely fine you obviously encountered someone lacking the relevant skills to own such an intense dog. Must have not not socialised it, creating a fearful/aggressive animal. But if you show fear or dislike to dogs yours will pick up on it putting it in a defensive state of mind, this is actually more likely to increase the chance of being attacked again. The best thing you can do for your dog is forget it and move on, allowing it to do the same thing

You just cant understand them, you dont know how to communicate with them, there is no need to be afraid of them or certain breeds, its kinda like expecting a German to hate all colored people because of Hitler. There is NO reason at all for this beautiful dog to be muzzled. say if there is a person in your neighborhood that kills some one, should we jail you to? Learn some respect!!!.... It has happenedSEVERAL TIMES, when we encountered with large dogs without muzzles (dogs of different breeds, even a Golden Retriever that is considered a friendly and less dangerous dog). Their owners didn't seem stupid people who appreciate aggressiveness of their animals. You obviously haven't seen your little doggy in the large mouth of another dog. If it ever happens, you will understand me.

So it was your fault you didnt see it and didnt react to it. take some lesson on dog behavior to understand it better, NEVER blame the dog, blame yourself! I work at a kennel and can tell when i dog is doing to attack and i stop it before it happens, yes!! i have seen a dog i cared for alot! in the jaws of another dogs, since that day i have learnt! + little dogs are just as bad!

If you have raised many dogs you 100% should of seen it coming and stopped it as you should of learnt dog behavior by now. And several time, wow! they better be good circumstances!! i just can't get over their smile, it is the most infectious thing in the world, my girl does that growl in the back of her throat when she's really excited and will literally try to talk but she wont bark, i dont really want to teach her speak because I kind of dont want to encourage the barking but it is pretty awsome how obedient he is, good job

They really are a wonderful breed. I have one and I love her to bits. Her affinity for people is touching. They are a really great animal and its a pity they have such a bad press due to the 'idiot' element. I love the way how they seem to have a 'laughing' expression on their face. Mine is a black and brindle. Her name is Sammy and she's gorgeous.

@crazyasspppp staffys were bred to fight, they are fighting dogs. same with the pittbull etc. they are all bred to fight, but friendly towards human.

Suffer , the staff looks pretty darn healthy to me and very well looked after . To make him "beg" for his treat as you call it , can only be a good thing . Dogs as you know have wild instincts or maybe dont know , its no good just feeding old fido when he wants to fed thats leads to all sorts of problems diabetes etc .. so next time u see fido "begging " for his food alvinthetwit maybe you should stop to think how much this dog is loved and not suffering.....
