I'm not that much surprised, I do understand that history does bare some horrible deeds,.. I am sorry for all the horrible things that men did to each other.
Aznavour and alike artists have fortunately succeeded in becoming world citizens and art icons. I was just saying that music should have been more on the platform at those past times so that men could have been a bit more considerate towards each other :-)
@ltorossyan A touch ? He is sad all over,.. History set aside, he is one of the rare artists of our time to express such deep feelings. Being a Turk, I often wonder if all the horrible things would have happened if music was involved at those times...
@haruncenani I don't quite understand why you are so surprised??? - at the fact that Aznavour is Armenian or at the fact that though the song is performed with an utmost passion, there could be seen a touch of sadness...?
You mention your nationlity & speak of "horrible things"? Yes, He had been driven away from his native land because of the nation that had performed "horrible things", but however His parents could succeed to bring a Man who belongs to nations!!!
Yes, my dear, Charles Aznavour is Armenian, and despite to all barbarians, who forced many Armenians to go outside of own country, to survival after Armenian Geocide, Armenians like the great Charles Aznavour, has shown the whole world, what a wonderful and talented people are Armenians.
Master Charles Aznavourian is beloved of entire world, as a genius, who has delighted alot of generations, with talent, grace, romantism and sensitivity. For this reason is respected, loved and adored in all the countries. God bless him for all that has given us.

I think I like this version even more than the russian original. Who translated it, Aznavour himself?
Why do we live, what is the reason? Joy.
