Yeh the audio is not that great, they must not have recorded real engine sounds, I guess its not as easy as you think becuase a cars engine makes different sounds at different loads, throttle, speeds, and inclines. To record every possble sound a car could make would be impossible almost, so they did the right thing, and the sounds will get better in future releases.

if seeing this vid comparing with NFS Shift (1st ver) , Shift is lot better i find it , but i never play GT 5 before actually , so i dont noe how is exactly the gameplay whether is GT 5 better or Shift n since i only play com its even hard to tell

I have nothing against GT 5 , but seriously like most ppl said the problem is it doesnt have PC plaform , while the NFS has every , so i guess a racing game next to NFS is GT 5 , i cant wait for NFS Shift Unleased =)

@GameworldGR you know... even being harder, some people play simulators because they like simulations. Unless you put a metal stick with a camera behind your car, your vision is going to be from the cockpit. It makes the game more realistic.

This is my first time seeing gameplay from GT5, and I must say, I am severely disappointed! I have been waiting forever for this game in hopes that they would get the sounds and physics right, but it sounds and seems just like GT4. I am a sucker for audio especially and I had high hopes for this game to sound and handle better than Forza 3. I could not have been more wrong. Looks like its Forza 3 until number 4 comes out :/

GT5 cars are made to be replicas of the real ones, and i highly doubt that you will hear the ear splitting details of a v8 in your $500,000 car. all cars have sound reduction measures, and gran turismo 5 remakes them beautifully. unless of course, you want to go deaf.......... forzas sound effects are excellent, but unreal.

Intake, gearbox, exhaust blip and reverb. Listen to a video of the real thing hauling ass, then watch this, it's very different. And GT is well known for it's low caliber sound effects. It's been a point of contention for year among GT fans.

@LateNightCable If you look at the speed-ometre, its in km per hour, i would've thought that to be obvious since only a few hyper cars can get to over 220 mph. I wouldn't say the sound effects are crap, its because he's using 1st person view, the sounds change when your using 3rd person, but I'm guessing thats what the engine would sound like from the interior. But if your going to judge a game by its sound then you should probably look at the better aspects of the game.

I was disappointed in the 800 cars no cockpit view and damage, but other than that the game is amazing. Forza 3 is fucking awesome too, and i can't wait for the Ultimate Collection to be released here. They're both the best driving simulators on next-gen consoles, so stop your bitching.
