Respond to this video... Where are the cops running to the fire!? Is anybody hurt? -IDK, I don't care enough to check. I just watch the pretty flames...
just more evidence as to why GSDs are the smartest most loyal breed of dogs in the world. any dog is capable of doing this, i'm sure, but a GSD is most likely to. I mean that was a LONG way to lead from, and remember the GSD was in the black on night, waiting ALONE before the car showed up.
@kittybookitty most police dogs are belgian malinois they look very simular to german shepards but i think that was a german cause of the black on the back
@dtf1017 no...most police dogs are german shepherds and it has been that way for a long time. various other dog breeds are used though, but mostly shepherds.
@nickd6966 After leading the state trooper to the house, apparently the dog ran back to the same spot and waited for the fire truck too! And after that he hopefully got alot of dog treats!!
@THISxISxREALITY Yha I heard this too. To go get the cop is one thing but to go "Ok good..Cops are here *phew* Ok be right back heading back for the fire truck" Thats just awesome
This dog may be a clever trousers but what was he doing operating a meth lab out in the middle of nowhere to begin with? Not to mention how he got it set up without opposable thumbs.
What most people don't realize is that after leading police to the fire, the dog then went all the way back and then led the fire trucks to the home as well. The dog knew what it was doing.
for those that thought he was just lost, what most people do not know is that the dog, after leading police to the house, left and went all the way back and waited for the fire trucks to lead them to the home as well. The dog knew what s/he was doing.
Considering the dog's vision is two feet from the ground, how in the heck did he hold all that infomation about tuning this way and that way....what an amazing dog...What a great story. When I saw it was about 2 min long, I didn;t expect we would see very much of the story, but it's all here...Lucky Owner.
Anyone who's has lived with dogs should recognise beckoning behaviour, here. This dog is not fleeing. It is interacting. It's saying "follow me". When a dog flees, they don't interact; they just take the hell off.
@indbusfor20yrs, dude if the dog would have got scared of police car, he wouldn't have ran on the straight road, he could have simply took a short cut or could have ran some other way. Definitely he was leading the car, irrelevant of the fact if a police car or just some random person.
@bobbeeV If you actually watched the NEWS video, they say that the cop's GPS malfunctioned and the cop spotted the dog and took a CHANCE but following it. the cop got lucky basically.
@inbdusfor20yrs You are right, The dog got scared of the police car and ran back to it's home. It's still pretty lucky though. But the dog was not leading the car, he was running away from it.
@Fish61324 ,buddy the dog im sure not scared of the police car he really intended to show the police whats happening,i remember our house dog Geria (not even a trained dog)she always go with my grandma to the field, one day it rained so hard so our dog barked to signal that they must go home,so the dog quickly run home but the dog can not wait for my grandma at home she ran back to check wheres she,few minutes later they were home
@eriche143 Good for your dog lol. I didn't comment on your dog, I commented on this video which doesn't have your dog in it. Listen guy....The dog in THIS video got scared of the car and ran back to it's home. It's that simple, sorry if that disappoints you. Goodbye. Also for other ppl, the dog doesn't look back to make sure the cop is still following him to the fire, the dog looks back to see if the cop has left so he can stop running down the road. ppl read WAY too much into things.Get over it
@Fish61324 The dog didn't just stop + look at the car, he waited which shows he wasn't running from the car. Also, a scared dog would run into woods or otherwise off the road, taking a short cut, but not the long way home via streets.
@Fish61324 ok,if thats what u believe, try get a dog of your own and see what he can do for u,i believe the dog just want to show to the cop what he saw, thats an animal instinct same with the cop thats a human instinct too to follow ,the cop knows the dog must have something to show...just expand your mind and appreciate what an animal like dog can do to you as human...i told u about our dog coz i just wanted you to reliaze how smart an animal like dogs
It doesn't show or explain how the dog got the cops' attention (or if the dog knew they were cops or just people in general) or why the cops decided to follow a dog, but it does show the dog slowing down and turning to make sure the cops kept following and also stopping once they got to the end of the block knowing the humans could figure things out from there. Amazing dog!
@GinaEmacs Actually you are right, the dog kept looking back to make sure the trooper was following.. and was raised by a police dog trainer for the first 6 weeks...
here's the article, it was on yahoo news.. Alaska dog honored for leading troopers to fire And the police officer/trooper confirmed that yes, the dog did look back a few times to make sure he was there...

German Shepherds are the the best! Great story!

Maybe Buddy was running around in the woods, until he was getting chased by a car with flashing lights, which scared him and sent him running home...
Or, maybe Buddy figured out what needed to be done, happened across the trooper while looking for help, and brought him back to help save his family.
I'd like to think it's the latter...

The dog probably ran off because the fire scared him, and when he saw the police car, he probably got scared and ran away from that too.

@inbdusfor20yrs thats stupid, then why did the trooper follow him? he didn't get a call to go there.
