jus watched this episode on netflix....love it. love JD's slip up...this is what made the show awesome: emotional investment in characters n their stories. awesome song too
I think the meaning of the song doesn't necessarily have to refer to god. Yes the band wrote it for him but it can also deal with the much bigger aspect of love and friendship. That to me is what this scene represents.
i had to delete whole scrubs seasons coz of some reasons... but i kept this episode 16th ..jus coz of this scene.... :) love to watch it again and again ... expressions are priceless... the way elliot reacts , jumps and hugs ...awesome .. the way coz raises to carla... awesome .. :) Best scene ever... music AWESOME ....
This is one of my favourite scenes because it's a perfect example of what makes this show so good. The believability of the characters friendships. It's as realistic as a TV show can get.
haha i´ve watched this episode a few minutes ago..and thought about this song at the end of the episide.. -> google -> and realized that i heard this kutless song a few years ago when they performed in germany ;D
in german: kutless ist toll und scrubs ist mindestens genauso toll :D ..aber ich wusste einfach das ich dieses lied kenne xD
there's gonna be a season 9 with a different format braff & chalke are coming back for 6 episodes to help & turk cox & janitor are gonna be regulars but i still guess your right that it ended in its current state
I love scrubs, but i honestly don't want a season 9. It ended beutifully at season 8 and i think it would be a bad move to make another season after such a great send off.
And because of that, if there is a season 9, I don't think I would watch it...
I know, right?!?!?!?! I'm a believer who adores Scrubs and I was pretty surprised when I heard Kutless' song playing in the background of this scene. However, God can totally use a show like Scrubs to reach out to people if he wants to =)
simply awesome!! scrubs rules, this scene always makes me cry... the only other scene in scrubs that does that to me is the funeral scene in season 3 when ben died... i also cried when they played chasing cars in grey's anotomy in the season 2 finale... if you have seen that scene you will know what i mean
why doesnt this song get nearly as much of attention as it should!! its sooo good and i never hear about it before this scrubs episode. best episode by the way
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
It gets no attention cause it's a Christian song. No Christian songs get secular airplay accept for MercyMe and once dc Talk... Unless they're cross over artist which Kutless isn't... Christian music has and forever will be underrated because of it's lyrics.
No. Christian music has come into the mainstream if it sounds mainstream. In my opinion, I don't know the difference between a mainstream C to A over a Christian C to A...
I love how JD or should I say Zach Braff hugs some random blonde chick at the very end haha...like "hey why not, great way to hug a pretty girl" lolll.
Since this isn't an overtly christian tv series, (unlike, say, Touched by an Angel), I'm honestly surprised they didn't "censor" it by having the name of Jesus drowned out or something. Even in American Idol, when the 8 finalists sang Shout to the Lord by Darlene Zschech, they replaced the name "Jesus" with the word "Shepherd". Guess I stand corrected
That was on the semi-finale. I think they got some bad rep about that because they sang it again with "My Jesus, My saviour" in the finale. Which was nice.
And besides, though not being overtly religious, it has been the centerpoint of several characters/episodes. Dr. Cox's born-again Christian Sister (and her believing her Religion to be what Cox hated about her) was a big part in "My New God", and Nurse Laverne Roberts heavy dependence on Faith in God and that all that happens is in his plan (A large part of "My No Good Reason") It wouldn't do well to Censor themselves here with what else they do.
Elliot knew about the pregnancy before Carla did and she almost slipped and let out the secret. Instead, to cover up, Elliot told Carla that she was fighting with Keith. Everytime Carla would walk into Elliot and Keith, Elliot would act mean towards him.
Elliot loves babies and would start crying whenver she looked at Carla she knew Carla was pregnant(who didnt know herself),so Carla asked why she was crying, she told her Keith(the guy she slapped)broke up with her so she had to pretend for most of the episode.
Women slap man for any reason... but let a man even so look at a woman the wrong way, and man... he's in trouble. He doesn't even have to touch her, and he's attacked by society.
you go kutless, they are without no doubt spreading gods word and by getting onto a show that is shown on NATIONAL tv and onto Rock Band 2 their popularty will grow and mabey more will be change by them as i was.
I knew this was Kutless. The voice sounded familiar and it was a worship song.... ON SCRUBS. lol They have songs like this on there time to time... I wouldn't be shocked it the producers were Christians or something.
I just saw this episode on Comedy Central. I heard the words "I lift up my hands and I worship you" and my ears perked up. Wow, you don't always hear a worship song on a sitcom. Scrubs Rocks!
J030366 i personally think it goes well with this clip because its do with feelings that people have trouble explaining and it goes with this clip because Turk and carla are so happy about having a baby they cant explain how they feel
the only line in there about god was i lift up my hands and i thank you Jesus... which does fit with the video because they tried hard for a baby and it's a blessing that they're thankful for, but i understand where you're coming from
i dont they chose this song because of the lyrics, it fits the tone o wats happening here.this is a mellow song, with kinda emotional qualities, same as the video.the lyrics arent the complete meaning of wat a song is about.

All of the relationships look very real and not scripted, its funny though cause the actress that plays Jorden is actually the directors wife, how akward is that?lol
When Elliot sees Carla and slaps Keith, I almost lost it. That was the funniest thing I ever saw!! LMAO!!!! It's nice to see Bill Lawrence using religious music in the show as well. It says a lot.
When they are all huging it just shows when something really important happens, all the characters really care for each other despite the face they usually put on.
i love the way JD and Turk react when she's standing in the bar and she anounces she's pregnant and they're standing behind her..JD's little smile is so sweet
i nearly cried when i saw this...it's even better cus she was actually pregnant, and thats probs how they would have reacted
I love the use of the song and the moment where you think that Carla will be angry with Turk about the news but she doesn't care because she's pregnant.
I just saw this episode on tv and recognized Kutless. Some may have objections to using this song in a show like Scrubs(which can be rather raunchy!). However, as a Christian, in putting this song in the context of the scene, it's like they are praising God for the gift of a child in their lives because they tried for so long. There's actually several people in the Bible who were given children when they never thought they could have any

maybe if you just take the words,
but there are some points about it;
the music is made to worship Jesus and God
this video is made to tell just a story about humans and bla bla so far i dont know the series.
so thats why im saying it doesn't fit becouse the music and the vid have both other meanings
and oke, if the music wasn't to worship God i would haven't say this!

i love the way JD and Turk react when she's standing in the bar and she anounces she's pregnant and they're standing behind her..JD's little smile is so sweet
i nearly cried when i saw this...it's even better cus she was actually pregnant, and thats probs how they would have reacted
