I might be wrong but after couple times of watching these card tricks I think it's about speed and misdirections. After he let them see the card he immediately changes it, so when they think their holding their own card, Blaine has actually changed it already. Plus, he's holding the right card in the palm of his hand but that way they can't see it, and he changes very very fast. 4:30 He takes the right card and hides it in his left hand, then he changes the middle one.

WATCH!!! At 6:39 he does a double lift (he takes off the top 2 cards and shows the one second to top, the 3 of Hearts) and then puts the 2 of them back down, and then at 6:40 he takes only the top card (Queen of Hearts) leaving the 3 of Hearts on the top of the main pack. A very simple trick.
