Well most "Australians" are of English, Scottish or Irish descent. Are you saying there is no such thing as a white Australian? Just as there is no such thing as a white American by that same logic? Just because his lineage on Australian soil isn't as long as some, he was born here just like the rest of us and is no less Australian. Just as importantly, he identifies himself as an Australian; probably the most important component of any national identity.
