  • To get nearly 50mph I'm sure you must need the wind on your side somewhat.

  • The only reason TDF keeps the top speed from us is because of French arsiness. Something like hawkeye could easily give us speeds, trajectories and accelerations because lets face it we NEED TO KNOW!! :D

ps. Never, ever, ever, trust a motorcycle speedo, digital or not.

  • 0:13 - 62 km/h

  • The motorbike helps a lot, plus it looks in the video like he has a tail wind AND a slight downhill.

Fast, but I'm not too impressed.

  • @darkness96878 dude.. Dont you think he has a leadoutman in the race? its the same pace as the motorcycle. So, why arent you impressed?

  • @darkness96878 haha you're not too impressed???what sort of speed can you do on your bike???

  • Keep training kid... you let Cav walk all over you this year...

  • there was a speed limit in 0:22 :P

  • He still struggles to beat cavendish.

  • I needed a -10% slope to beat 78km/h !

  • He's got over 25km/h on me

  • I need a decent downhill to get 78km/h

  • Ganz verruckt!

  • That training got him a win in the 2011 Tour De France..... AWESOME!!!

  • just awesome

  • broke the 70km/h speed limit..

  • @calvinoooooo Great sight :)

  • hes faster than me in my car wtf!! i need to get a bike

  • É assim que se faz!

  • Nice!

Must be helpful to draft a motorbike when sprint training ;D....im kidding....it was great!

  • holy fuck !!!!!!!!!!

  • holy shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice 78km/h :)

  • Pretty impressive. Still can't touch Cavendish though :)

  • To all the one talking shit, get a life, he's really good and he's going to be better. When you guys do what he had done then you come here and talk shit.

All the best to him in this coming season.

  • well yes, it all depends on the freshness of the legs! when they average 23 to 27 mph for 6 hours is amazing! It's all up to how the training was and how much calories they are eating!

  • That means they must do 55-60 at times, mph or 98kph in the bunch sprint, most I did in a race was 42 mph , I was fifth man & I knew I had never gone that fast on the flat before, it was ten per cent faster than anything I had done on my own, I died before the end of the race, a year later I was up there, that is what makes it such a great sport, some days you get a big surprise.

I have never seen the definitive top speed, it's as iof by obfuscating, they are keeping the secret of success frm us

  • @davidoffon no, they usually don't hit 55 to 60 in a sprint, unless its a downhill. usually a sprint might be between 40 to 50mph depending on nature and how far the race is. tyler was already riding up at around 38 to 40 mph drafting. this makes it a little easier to get up to about 50 in a sprint. Usually people can't draft off another rider quite that well. It also has to do with his gearing. He might be pushing a bigger gear than most of us are used to.

  • @trackmatt123 53/11, I've seen the odd speedo used in the bunch, or tv screen I should say, but never anything definitive on the sprint, I based the 55-60 on what we do and their superiotity, but I suppose a lot of that might just be an ability to average 27 mph for 6 or 7 hours. Ultimately I haven't a clue, thanks anyway.

  • me too

  • im faster

  • Vespa-driver should invest in a HERO cam from GoPro. Their youtube username is "GoProCamera" I believe.

  • Dear Tyler: Please smoke Frodo at this year's TDF. Love, me

  • Downhill sprint?

  • Holy Goodness!

  • Damn!!!!

  • fast.

  • wow 48 mph!!!

  • Looking good!
