Jeebus, the ZR1's handling characteristics are a direct derivative of the Corvette Racing program entered in the American LeMans Series for the past dozen years. It's called, "technology transfer," and no way does GM spend that kind of money without knowing full well what it means for consumers.

It can handle corners and chicanes just as well as the BMWs and Porsches. There are no speedway courses in ALMS; they're all road courses.

The only cars smoking this is the Veyron stable, Koenisegg's stable, Ferrari's FXX, McLaren's F1 & Saleen's S7 as well as the SSC arsenal.. This will stand up against a Zonda C12S, B Engineering, Ferrari Enzo, Lamborghini Reventon @ 222.

This will destroy the Porsche Carrera GT, SLR, Murcielago any Aston-Martin concieved, any Ferrari besides the Enzo & FXX. GT-R.

@d14d you are only talking about straight line speed, because in corners about 30 times as many cars have better handling characteristics. aston one-77 will destroy the zr1. SLR in a straight line is close as is the lp670. Hell this is all dumb is just a HP fest. Anyone can make big hp. Corvettes still dont handle predictably, this is where quality design, engineering and implementation is lacking.

This car has better lap times with company drivers than the lp670 and slr with PROFESSIONAL RACE CAR DRIVERS driving them..

on nurburgring anyway..

regardless ill take my 100k ZR1 vs the 450k lp670

or the million dollar mercedes and put all that money into the corvette and a new house...

@rmf09024 using super slick tires. The 2011 GTR did it 4 seconds slower in SEMI WET conditions with a 100kg weigh disadvantage and around 130 less hp! That is HUMILIATING for the ZR1!!!

@03056932 awd my friend, the c6 z06 is faster than the new gtr on nurburgring, that's embarrassing, plus the c6 zo6 cost less and is more fun to drive, Chevy is owning with the vettes ny friend by the time nissan puts outs a gtr to beat the 7:19 set by the zr1, the gtr will cost 120 grand and the vette will still be seconds faster, that's humiliating, the gtr is a computer on wheels, no where near the money its worth

@03056932 Of course a One-77 is gonna destroy a ZR1 in cornering but both have a similar top speed while the AM tops at 220 and the ZR1 tops at 225. 670 tops at 225 the SLR tops at 211!

No ZR1s have more horse power, more pound feet of tourque more comfortable and has a top speed of 205 mph 3 mph faster than the viper or viper acr

This will smoke the Viper at 225 mph. The speedo stops at 225 some speculate it can hit 230. The base Viper SRT-10 Coupe does only 202, the ACR will do 205.

lol I like how they put that cone chicane in there. I pretty sure they added that to slow the car down before reaching that banked turn. If they didn't then then the car would be approaching that corner at like 125+MPH. Wise move.

man the best part about this video is seeing that there are stereo controls on the steering wheel. it's a sign that GM has given us a car with balls that can also be a daily driver. well done. (not to undermine the superior driving, but you get the picture)
