I don't know many people of any race who think the Civil War was about slavery. Slavery was almost illegal right after the Constitution was signed. The Union did not enforce that law until the South decided not to pay those taxes.

A civil war is about control of one government, the South was trying to create their own nation. The South lost their war for independence, it is really that simple. They were not trying to takeover the US. They just wanted to leave it.

I'm not a confederate first of all. Second, the Union allowed the South to have slaves almost 100 years after outlawing slavery. The Union used slavery as a reason to invade the south and not allow them to leave the union. If you don't trust me, watch some of the people on my friend list. It is common knowledge that if legalizing slavery would have kept the union together, Lincoln would've made it legal again. It wasn't about FREEING SLAVES. My great grandparents were slaves. What about yours?

It takes more than a president to run a country. Hell, there was a REAL civil war fought under a white president. Unfortunately for Obama, he got the job at a bad time. If we are going to stick to the skin color thing. The previous presidents messed it up and handed it off to him when things got so bad. It's really pretty. I didn't grow up in the south. But I have a window decal in the shape of the South Carolina palm tree, and it has the rebel flag design in it. It's kind of hard to explain so you can visualize it. But it looks really cool.
