    (Sorry too Socoolscienceshow!)

  • @Socoolscienceshow You really know how to screw up a very good song don't you? Your an Azzhole!!!

  • @Socoolscienceshow You meant "If I had money, I'll tell ya what I'd do, I'd go down town to buy a mercury or two...

  • Yes, is much more rock "N" roll. We are having to put N in quotation marks because it is not being a real word, see? hooray for rock "N" roll!

  • This is what you would call Rockabilly not Rock!

  • Sorry this is not the original artist of this song, it was the Steve Miler Band about 30 yrs ago at least. But he does a good job of it, made his own.

  • Actually it was KC Douglas about 50 years ago. Look up his version on Youtube

  • Hey thanks now i have heard it in a blues version, rock n country. i do like KC's version though

  • I am guessing you have heard the David Lindley version? It's also on Youtube... the best of them all!

  • Amen someone got it right!

  • And the original didn't go to a Minor 6 or tag the 4 on the end. However I think Alan's Version is the best everything he does is.

  • That's right... his arrangement copied David Lindley's version, how original.

  • who did lindley copy?

  • Lindley's arrangement which Jackson copied, was original, but the song had been covered earlier by Steve Miller, the original was just a regular blues by KC Douglas, recorded in the late 40s or early 50s.

  • i love this song øø : )<#

  • if you don't like the song then don't listen to it. i love it on the other hand.

  • @trailkiller91 i heat that lol

  • @trailkiller91 ME too

  • I had to dance to this song in the 6th grade. I like the song, not the dance. :)

  • Hey you guys that are making fun of this song like Ccheek, you all need to stop because thies IS the original one! And some people are really in to country like us poeple from here in brandenburg, ky. so no one needs to make fun of it. Not just only i love because some other people love it too! so stop!

  • Republickin?

  • lol, if you were smart you would have realized that your comment was lame and an embarassment.

  • This what mercury blues is ..IN 1994 I went thru a break up..I had a whole bunch of mercury switches. I filled half a shot glass up..drank it. It didnt kill me dont know why..But that is what mercury blues is.

  • I love country songs and this one is my favorite

  • Im going to see Alan tonight. Hes singing in Bergen (norway) tonight:D yiiiiiiiiihhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I like Steve Millers version way, way better. Although you can't two-step to it!!

  • Everytime he says buy me a mercury I keep sayin Ford Truck

  • "im a country boy i drive a FOUR WHEEL DRIVE" -country boy

"Boy i am crazy about a mercury i am gonna buy me a mercury and cruise it up and down the road"

    -Mercury Blues

When did mercury start making 4WD's?.......

    Lmao

  • holy crap alan jackson of all people cant have more than one car?

    +my aunt has a 4wd mercury mariner.

    lmao.

  • GREAT 4 YOUR MOM

  • I drive a 97 Mercury Sable =P

  • haha i wonder what mercury did for him to mention them soooo well in this song lol

  • he wasn't the first to play this-

but ford did get him to commercialize trucks-after he made this song huge again-so mercury really couldn't have paid him anything, as mr.jackson doesn't hold ownership to the song-country artist like to share unlike joe satriani and metallica

  • Mercury is owned by Ford (FoMoCo)

  • he is a ford fan and mercury is powerd by ford engines

  • Not anymore. Alan is one of these people who cant make up his mind. He sings about Ford, Dodge, and Chevy... lately its been Chevy. Good singer but an indecisive idiot

  • Why does it matter what truck he sings about. Does it make him any less or any more of a man? NO. Just listen to and enjoy the song.

  • Why? Because he doesnt know what he likes. Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. Can only pick 1

  • So because Corb Lund sings about all these trucks, that makes him an idiot too?

  • You do a commerical for one, then you sing about 2 other trucks. Pick a truck and stick with it.

  • You realize that he could like all trucks and he does these commercials for the money. Don't forget, its all about the Benjamins.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey thanks for your two cents, but we werent talking about whether this was a commercial or not. Read the damn thread! The word commercial was only brought up to help argue a point. Thanks for trying though.

  • stepsideduude... Try doing a little research before you run your mouth. Mercury made trucks starting April 1946, and running thru to March 23, 1968. So I'm pretty sure you don't know shit about "cars"...

  • ihad a 1965 mercury stepside

  • Great swinging song..I like it..

  • i wish i could find the video to this song ive seen it a couple of times but good lord its been forever im a mercury freak i would love to get my hands on an ol 48-51 model my uncle has a 50 with the orignal flathead 8 rusting into the ground in his backyard wont come off to anyone dont want it hot rodded i would do it like the cars in the vid opening scene has the mercs coming out of a huge flash of lightning then ends with them racing with the lightning overtaking them like something in a drem

  • While overall I don't listen to country, I remember this song from when I was a teenager, and I just love it!!!

  • do you remember steve miller or david lindley's version? along with this version, three different, but great interpretations of the same song!

  • I didn't know there were other versions out there. I'll have to check them out.

  • farrah please do all three have different versions played in somewwhat different styles, and all three are good.

you may notice slight differences in lyrics between the three. i grew up knowing steve miller's version, and liked it a lot. when alan jackson's version came out, I thought it was much more "upbeat' and liked it even more...then I heard about about david lindley's version and thought it was cool too. check them out and enjoy them all!

  • i love this song!

  • Oh my god I love Alan Jackson! I found out about him because of that Ford Commercial

  • That Ford commercial was really something else!!
