A combat JOB (aka MOS, AFSC, NEC) is either chosen by the service member or the armed forces if they need more of a certain field. If you choose infantry, artillery, combat engineer, etc, you are more than likely going to see combat, especially in Iraq/Afghanistan. If you choose a non-combat role you MAY be shipped to a warzone, but you will either stay in a FOB or HQ. Go back to COD.
