@RocketQueenBand201 depends on the tail for your guitar. As it appears, his guitar came with no stop tail route, so he had to drill it out, if you plan on putting a stop tail on you might have to do this, although most LP kits come with one. But, if you plan on putting a differnet tail on, such as a bigsby, it wouldn't be required.
Hey whats up I like the video.... I believe i just purchased the same DIY kit from ebay, i have a question though..... How and where do you know to drill for the bridge and tailpiece? I've been searching all over and couldnt find any answers. Also did the body come with binding or did you add it? Either way EXCELLENT JOB!!!!!!
honestly do not see the point in a guitar kit, you either build a guitar properly or not at all, theres nothing worth doing with a kit, just assembling and a bit of painting or whatever, get stuck in at the deep end and make a guitar properly! though tbf not a bad job with the kit ;-)
how do you acually make the tiger stripe cuz i did this for a school project, i stuffed the stripe up so i went with a sunburst...that looked even worse. but how do u actually paint the stripe with the dye?
I'm all about this kit thing, I can finish one the way I want it and put on the hardware the way I like. The only thing I'm not clear on after watching countless vids, is the neck set.
Is the neck and pocket already to go and how do you know what needs to be done to get that neck set right the first time. If that neck in off the axe is worthless.
Help.
Great looking axe. I'm sure your proud of it. If it plays as good as it looks you should be very happy !!
I sell kits with mahogany bodies and with flamed maple also ebony fretboards and different styles of fretboard markers. I have Explorers, LP's, Glying V's and SG's
Email me at ro@artelco.com or go to my website rmolsonguitars don't forget .com
So this IS the GF LP kit? Good deal.....was wondering as to the quality of their kits. I realize the electronics are crap as they come(hell, when the website even says as much in the online literature....LOL), but the basic structure is what I'm interested in.
Man thats great! I had delusions of doing this before I got my first electric, then I realized that after getting all the tools etc pff might as well just buy a guitar already made lol. This is an awesome job though!
looks great. I love that finish. I've been wanting to build a guitar from the ground up for a long time..just never got to it. Looks like there's quite a few of those DIY kits out there. Thanks for the inspiration.
@cjdavda I know I can get all I need from Warmoth and all that but I'd rather try it first and invest less. if I mess it up, I won't feel as bad as I would. I'd be okay with spending extra on the electronics and hardware anyway.
btw i asked my dad if he would like to build a guitar with me and he agreed but he said that he knew nothing bout guitars and that he would preffer to make something else instead.
This video once again inspires me to continue in persuading my dad to help me :D .
Oh and i just have 1 question.About the LP kit : how can i get it? I mean i know that you dont make international deliveries anymore and so i dont know where i could get one that would be in good shape
I would definately but if you aren't a patient person who doesn't mind a few bumps in the road, I wouldn't. Some people are better off buying the finished product...
Very Nice!!! I' ve been debating on the LP, or the PRS, I think I will go with the LP the final product looks so much better. You should post a video of you playing it, would really like to hear it.
I really like what you did with the colours... mine is kinda dull but i managed to put on some graphics... I wanted to ask: those zebra pickups were factory or you ordered them separately? and if you did from where???
hey man, do you make these kits? if so, how much for a les paul kit JUST like yours without any drill holes for the bridge...i'd like to customize a les paul but warmoth is just too expensive for me. i'd like to put on a Schaller 456 bridge but all other kits out there have holes drilled for tune-o-matic bridges. thanks for your time - and great finish on the LP in the video!
About the kit at 0:13, I MUST BUY IT!!!!! Do sell any, or do you know where to get it? Im building a buckethead guitar so if you could help that would be great! thanks bro!
That's soo legit. What brand and color name is that red stain you used??

bowslap 1 year ago
@bowslap this wasactually from a small dealer on ebay. Probably the same thing. yeah, hardware is crap. I changed tuners, pups, pots...
It's all about the woodwork. If you do a good job on the finish, put decent hardware on you could have a fine instrument.
It also requires a fret job btw...
Good luck,

Can you build me a guitar in high quality?
I trying to make money now so I can pay for it.
I need to know hos much does it cost to build it and how much to ship to scandinavia.
I know it depends on the electronics, and how much time you spend on it, but I think it will be the worth the wait and the money.
If you are interested I will send you the specs on email and pictures of the guitar I want.
PM your email.
It is ok if you dont want to but the price I can pay is up to 900 -1500 USD.
