In Tijuana in the late 80s they were the closing band in a festival that included Chris Isaak, The Hoodoo Gurus, Squeeze, The Fixx and The Bangles. Oingo Boingo had a party on stage and had so many encores that I don't really remember the exact number of times they came back on stage (or was it the alcohol?)... Fun band.
Ahhhhh. Having fun with friends in San Francisco....going to the warehouse clubs, dancing and getting crazy....those were the days....no violence....just people having fun....you're not my slave.....
Talvez o melhor do Oingo Boingo.
I always thought this song was in The Fifth Element, during the ending credits or something, but it isn't. I don't know why or how some songs become associated with stuff like that. Love this song btw, Oingo Boingo is great.
i go around all of youtube & watch videos of my favorite bands & no matter how good they are theres always some pricks who have to "dislike" it but
the fact that this video has 120 likes (so far) & no dislikes is a testament of how great this really was. I saw Johnny vatos boingo dance party & thats about the closest thing we have to them nowadays.
Oingo Boingo is/was far superior to the majority of music out there. They are one of "those" bands whose total is greater than the sum of its parts. Their genius in both composition & lyrics combined with the charisma of Mr. Elfman made them _truly_ unique.
As someone else said, the music I love is the soundtrack of my life. Elvis = Phoenix early 60's, Bob Dylan = Oahu mid 60's, Cream = Flagstaff late 60's, Oingo Boingo = San Diego 80's. It is my timeline. Is it that way for anyone else?
I fully agree with the Beeba. Music was more then just background noise in those days. It was the soundtrack of our lives; good, bad, or indifferent moods were changed within a few bars. :)
I tried to think about what made the music so good back then? I conclude that it was due to the fact we never heard a band on you tube or I tunes. We had to get out, and it was that act that makes the music so much more. I can remember seeing these guys in concert, it was an adventure to hear music, those memories are associated with the songs. Far better memory then finding something on the internet and listening alone. Not really much to that! God I miss simple times!
@Beeba1 Live music is becoming a lost art. Boingo was one hell of a live band. Fond memories from the Royal Oak Music Theater just outside Detroit. They always opened with DeadMan's Party. One time everyone I was with dropped Acid it was Insane.
@Beeba1 I half disagree. Because of youtube I found bands I actually go out of my way to see live. But I do agree because when I'm at those concerts I find bands I go out of my way to search on youtube. :)
@Beeba1 Well, I hear ya to a certain extent. On the other hand, with the evil Clear Channel Empire having the stranglehold it has on today's mainstream, where else can we go to hear anything that isn't just(in) complete bullswift?

Saw Oingo Boingo Play at the Ritz (NYC) 1988. They were AMAZING!
I wish Danny Elfman could overcome his stage-fright and go back on tour.
You would never know when he was on stage that he suffered from agoraphobia.
I miss him on stage pushing out that positive vibe that gets a whole concert jumping.
Wish you could have all experienced Oingo Boingo live!
Miss ya Mystic Knights of Oingo Boingo.
