Truly a rescuer of Angels in need. Thank you WinStar for positively standing out when there is such negativity at this time with the horse slaughter issue.
How could anyone not want to give these athletes a second chance?
WinStar continues to show how it is the industry leader and a class act. "They Get It." Thanks for putting this up. And continued success in all WinStar endeavors!
Winstar has ALWAYS been a class act and Hedge Fund has come home to a wonderful farm that truly cares about it's horses, whether they owned them or bred them. This video touched my heart and I know that Hedge Fund knows that he is HOME and will live out his life happy and well cared for. Thank you Winstar for living the philosophy of doing what's right for horses. That is what it is all about. Winstar is the BEST!!!
I was so hoping this boy would find a home. He was running in claiming ranks all the time especially in the dead of winter. He didn't live up to his breeder's demands and I was truly sure he would end up with a horrible fate. I mentioned him to some rescue farms but who needs them when WinStar would come to his deserved rescue. He is TRULY a lucky boy and stock in this farm has risen once again! God Bless these truly wonderful, caring people. Do they have room for Baronial? Enjoy, Hedge Fund.
it would be great i the horses less successful, less connnected less loved could be reitred to run free on Montana grasslands...... I bet a one percent deduction from all purses could start to pay for that.....
Typical for Bill and Susan. Class people, that honor their horses, their family and their friends. Commitment to doing the right thing, the equine industry is better because of the Casners.
Thank you for being faithful to our equine friends. May God continue to bless you and may you continue doing your honorable acts. You lead by example....
Wow, WinStar continues to be a class act. Hedge Fund is beautiful. Lucky for him he had connections that didn't care that they didn't breed him or own him "last" unlike so many like King David's Son who was owned at one time by a huge farm that declined to offer any help when he was rescued from starvation because they just couldn't worry about all the horses they bred or bought/sold every year.
Thank you Winstar for remembering these are animals and not widgets or racing cars.

Why retire him? Looks like he is sound and by the looks of that 12 length win, he still is a useful racehorse

Bravo to WinStar!
Hedge Fund was a warrior. He raced at NYRA tracks 25 times from 09/09 until he was claimed in 4/10 in NY and went to FL. 56 races.
He does look happy. He escaped with his life.
