I love the looks on their faces as they watch him. So many people can play that riff, and those two probably have a million times over, but to see it done by the one that brought it out is the tits. I had the chance to watch Eddie Van Halen in the Budokan in Tokyo back in 98, during sound check. My friend and I were the only ones in the arena, minus the staff of course, and we sat right there on the rail below the stage mesmerized. What a treat.

jimmy page is such an idol to me, the mix of his musicial ability is quite incredible. A delicate finger picking piece like bron yr aur to the incredible riff maker ie black dog. @Haassan1 Well that is part of the mistery cause Jimmy Page has his guitar wired up different so he can get different sounds, making the les paul sound thin...google jimmy page wiring and u'll c what i mean but he also plays a telecaster as well, which i think he use to use for recording records.

@Haassan1 That's a *most probably* a Les Paul. Pickups set out of phase then through the tonebender and probably a cocked-wah.

Strats can sound huge, and so can teles, in fact the first few albums were predominantly Tele=> Fuzz. The tonebender is very like a Fuzz Face, normally with a third transistor, they go from crystal clean to full dirt using the guitar volume control and picking hardness.

The joke goes: JP sold more Les Pauls playing a Tele than anyone playing a Les Paul.
