I've just read through all these comments and not one has spotted the most obvious fact that this is a faked ad.
If you PC people don't want to be perceived as dumb, you could try looking beyond the exploitation of a small child to sell a lie, and look at what the ad is suggesting she's done.
This isn't difficult.
And yes, it's been possible to do this on a Mac for about 7 years.
It's not only easy to impress PC users, it's a very simple matter to completely fool them too.
Since you want to nit-pick, i'll just point out some errors you made.
We only see her taking 2 pictures with flash. You can't assume that all the pictures she took had flash as well.
Also, if you view the ad in high def, you'll see that the stitching is actually done from 8 pictures, 2 of which are not shown on the screen. Maybe the French window is in those 2 images.

GraphicaLaughter - there's nothing funnier an an idiotic mac v pc debate, but what fun it is. I run both PC & MAc
1) On my G4 Titainium Mac (5years old) I have never had virus software but have never had a virus in all those years. It's a constant fight with my PC.
2) I can build a super fast PC for $1.5k as fast as a $3K mac.
3) the G5 macbook pros are incredibly fast with pro apps. Built out of one solid piece of aluminum, they are sweet.
I don't know of any "trends" that have lasted as long as Apple. Pretty sure they're here to stay...at least they've been here for the last 30+ years...hmm.
Just because Apple promotes their ease of use and simplicity doesn't mean nothing else is and that it's propaganda. It's an AD. A COMMERCIAL. If people love it, people will use it and will continue to promote it. Get over it.

Honestly if Windows 7 lives up to the hype I may just change my mind about getting a Mac. Windows 7 looks like a very capable, attractive, stable OS. I've been beta testing it and *ahem* OH EHM GEE it really runs well!
I'm waiting till after the final release to make up my mind though. And the ad approach is nice too :D.
I like the "it's soo easy even a little kid can do it" theme in the recent Microsoft ads, and I gotta say..it's a simple and effective approach. I'm glad these ads don't target Apple directly. It's almost like Microsoft doesn't even consider Apple its competitor at all ;)

Sorry guys, but that's not a stitched photo from the shots she takes. Look at the perspective.
Also, she used flash for each shot. But the images on the screen have different light sources.
The stitching is too accurate to be credible.
But the real problem is that the French window is visible on the right in the completed stitched image.
If you look at the 6 shots she is supposed to have created the stitched image from, the French window isn't in any of them.

Otro FAIL para microsoft, por lo menos para mi, no me sorprende que esta chiquilla de 7 años pueda hacer todo con una pc, yo mismo he visto con menos años hacer mas cosas con una pc, el problema es que la misma frustración siente un hombre adulto cuando su equipo no responde como debe o se congela a través de una BSOD como la frustración que siente un niño de menor edad que Alexa. El problema no es la facilidad de uso, es la calidad del producto.

the new Windows actually looks pretty awesome :D I know some people who have played with the beta and the feedback has all been pretty good :)

What a lie. Let's break down the scene
1. Kid actor talks to the camera
2. Kid actor took a picture
3. Kid plugs the USB cable to a laptop
4. Kid touches the edge of the laptop, but you only get to see the back of the screen.
5. A zoomed up view shows someone joins the pictures on Windows, but you can't actually see the user.
6. Kid touches the pointer pad on the notebook
7. Kid runs away a comes back with a printed picture.
They could have done this with a one year old.

Honestly if Windows 7 lives up to the hype I may just change my mind about getting a Mac. Windows 7 looks like a very capable, attractive, stable OS. I've been beta testing it and *ahem* OH EHM GEE it really runs well!
I'm waiting till after the final release to make up my mind though. And the ad approach is nice too :D.

I like the "it's soo easy even a little kid can do it" theme in the recent Microsoft ads, and I gotta say..it's a simple and effective approach. I'm glad these ads don't target Apple directly. It's almost like Microsoft doesn't even consider Apple its competitor at all ;)
